This episode really is silly. While enjoyable it reveals how the writers were running on fumes. Jack went to cooking school for 4 years and became a chef with his own restaurant. You dont think his parents know about his restaurant and would inform his grandparents? For 5 years his cooking school and restaurant is nothing to brag about to his grandfather? We know he was trying to impress his grandfather who recovered suddenly from a major illness but is it a bit ridiculous to lie to the grandfather and never told him about Jack's life for over 5 years? His grandfather is sort of like Janet's parents. He just shows up unannounced. Terri has no problem risking her job for letting Jack come into the hospital to pretend to be a doctor and impersonating a doctor there. Lastly, would not Jack's grandfather be older than this? They gave him a cane to try and make him seem elderly but he was not that old and could of been his father. In the end the secret is revealed and Jack's grandfather is still proud of him.

I think it's possible the reason this episode was made was that it would involve Terri in her hospital setting.

It is similar to why in the farm episode that the reason the trio slept in the barn was to show the scene of Jack being afraid of a pig.

The grandfather looked the right age to me. Jack was in his 20's and his dad was 50ish and the grandfather was defintely 75 or older :lol:

He was old enough to be furley's father so he defintely could be jack's grandfather

He didnt get the restuarant until next season

Well the Grandpa Tripper episode was in season 6 and Jack didn't get his own restaurant until season 7.

It would have been nice to see him because a real boss and not have to please Angelino even after he got his own restaurant. lol
