I remember when Lifetime had a game show block that included Supermarket Sweep Shop Til You Drop and then Debt was added. I thought the concept of Debt was cool but I wonder why Lifetime didn't continue Debt? Was it somewhat of a flop in Lifetime ratings? Because I think Lifetime wanted to make Wink Martindale a Comeback Kid to game shows and they thought he would be fun to host Debt. I also learned that Debt was an American remake of a UK show of the same name developed by Michael Davies before he developed Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Has Debt been one of the forgotten 90's game shows that nobody mentions anymore?

I liked watching the Supermarket Sweep and Debt hour when I was on vacation. But I didn't have regular cable access then. And unlike Supermarket Sweep which aired on BUZZR, I haven't seen Debt anywhere recently. Compared to Tic Tac Dough, Debt is mostly a forgotten show. :(

I never cared for Debt game show but I liked Wink better mostly on Tic Tac Dough (1978-1985) and High Rollers (1987-1988)

How Debt was made i'll never figure out the reason? Because I think the way I see it Lifetime was looking for another possible hit game show because they already had successes with Shop Til You Drop and Supermarket Sweep and after the failure of Born Lucky with Bob Goen and so they thought Debt would work well. But I think why Debt was underrated was the gameplay was weak " I mean who wants their debt reduced to zero?" But if you were to ask any fan of game shows Debt was somewhat of a surprise hit because of Wink Martindale and I think Wink had to beg and beg and beg for Lifetime to let him host this show. GSN should've had Debt reruns in the marathon for Wink Martindale so fans could see how weak this show was

One thing I remember about Debt was Wink's line "All questions on Debt take the I am, you are format."

Didn't this series earned a CableACE Award in 1996?
