In the episode where Lamont run for state assemblyman, I thought Fred should have been more supportive of Lamont running for office as he feared if Lamont got elected, he be lonely and have nobody help him with the junk business. In the episode it was mentioned that Assemblyman made $20,000 a year which is equivalent to $80,000 today.

If Fred was more supportive, Lamont might have made career out of being a politician with good salary and get out of junk business. And Fred could have married Donna so not to be lonely, and with her added income, Fred also be better off financially.

She was added to the show yet but still he was acting like he was 94 and was still somewhat of a young man at 65 and very functional and could have had a lady friend to keep him company instead of worrying about Lamont leaving lol

That remind me of the scene where Lamont had rented his own apartment. Fred was telling Lamont when he invited the widow over the night before to spend the night: After last night, Ready Fredy Ain't Too Steady :D
