June 6, 2025 is the scheduled release date. The album, which was recorded and slated for a 1974 release, was shelved due to Dusty's personal problems and her dissatisfaction with the production.

Nine of the ten songs from Longing were eventually remixed and released on the 2001 compilation Beautiful Soul: The ABC Dunhill Collection.

With this release, all of Dusty Springfield's known studio albums will now have been released in physical form. Another unreleased album, Faithful, meant for a 1971 release, was finally issued on CD and vinyl in 2015.

I am a fan of Dusty Springfield and didn't know that some of her albums that were unreleased are getting released on CD for the first time. Because I thought they had shelved them after she died in the 90's. Because the last album she released was called A Very Fine Love in 1995. Because I remember a story that when the Dusty In Memphis album came out it was a big failure but people bought it. I wonder if all of the Dusty Springfield library of albums are gonna be remastered and released with better sound quality too?

I received my copy last week. Have yet to listen to it, but did listen to "Corner of the Sky" on YouTube.
