I only have a third of them, but i LOVE the shower and the antenna and the stilts, the skates, the locked in the vault with Mooney, kiddie parties and others. The Carol Burnett ones were always great.

Can't argue with those choices! Can't wait till we're at a stage where everybody has the copies so we can all judge!

Lucy Meets The Berles was by far one of the funniest episodes. I just watched it again Monday. Lucy and Viv Put In A Shower is another good one. The Carol Burnett eps are also pretty good.

I haven't seen every episode, so I can't really compile much of a list. I was never a huge The Lucy Show fan, it had some really hilarious episodes, but I was just never into it, really. Guess I was too attached to I Love Lucy to really be able to fully enjoy The Lucy Show.

Where have we heard that before? Trust me, years from now, you might feel the same way about The Lucy show as you do about I Love Lucy, i know i do! Seing every episode a few hundred times wears you out after a while, so you appreciate seing Lucy in a different setting once in a while!

I will admit, I am starting to enjoy The Lucy Show almost as much as I Love Lucy. I haven't watched an episode of ILL since I bought the DVDs months ago. And taking a break from it IS making me appreciate The Lucy Show a little more. Not all episodes are laugh out loud material, but it's still a very good show. I think my main problem with The Lucy Show is that I've never liked Gale Gordon. I warmed up to him in Here's Lucy, but other than that? I've never really been a fan of his, so that's probably the root of why I'm not all that thrilled when watching The Lucy Show.

Don't tell anybody, but i never liked him either! The writers NEVER made him a likeable character, he was the loudmouth always yelling at Lucy, with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Later on when i found out what he was like in real life, that he worshipped the genius of Lucy, that he was the hardest working dedicated person, i grew to LOVE him, but the show was over by then. The answer to your problem might be that you stated that you bought Lucy show DVD's, i have those also, they are the pits, lousy picture, nothing worthwhile added on the DVD's and the ones chosen on there are NOT the best ones. The ones withCarol Burnett are the only ones i liked, and i've only watched them a couple of times. Instead, i'm watching 50 of the 156 that someone copied for me of the first two seasons, if you EVER get to see those, you'll see what we're all raving about, the shows were much better. Mind you, there's something else too. I'm an oddball that likes the last three seasons instead of the first three with Viv and the kids, i liked her alone in color with the guest stars, or i thought i did, till i got the first 50, now i'm wondering if i'll change my mind again when i get the last 100 shows, CONFUSED YET?, i know i am! The thing is i needed a rest from ILL, watch it every night on TV Land anyway, but i look forward to my Lucy show marathons, at least i don't have those memorized yet!

I know how to get rid of your confusion Splain. When you get all 156 episodes randomly pick 5 episodes from season 1 and then 5 from season 4 and then watch all ten at one time. You'll find yourself singing the praises of the Viv years. Of course I am biased :) Of course if you didn't like Mr. Mooney in TLS you should like season 1 since he wasn't in it.

Yes, TVJunkie101, you do sound like everyone, comparing TLS and HL to ILL, thinking you don't really like TLS and HL as much as ILL until you grow ever so tired of ILL and then find yourself missing TLS and HL. I LOVE ILL, its most definately the greatest show ever made and the best Lucille Ball series. However, I do like TLS very much as well as HL. I've found the best thing to do is look at each on their own and try not to compare them to other series. When you do that, you find Lucy's later works were for the most part very good.....and find myself missing them very much as I haven't got to watch them since 1999.

I don't really have a list of fave episodes, since I haven't seen them all. I got the Columbia House TLS tapes a few years ago, and I must admit, I really do enjoy this show! I love the first season ones (who couldn't?), but one of my gripes is the colorization of the second & third season episodes. They just look so over-colored and the actors overly made-up. I even went to the lengths of connecting the VCR to my tiny little 5 inch B&W TV just to see how they were intended to be, and let me tell you they are much better - it really makes a difference to see them in black & white.

As for the Carol Burnett episodes you guys have mentioned, well to say the least I can't stand them!!!! You see, this local TV station (WLLA TV64) plays mostly 5th & 6th season episodes and tends to re-run certain episodes to death to the point of making you want to scream, and the Carol Burnett episodes are some of those! One week last year, every time I turned it on, it would be the Carol Burnett 5th seaon episodes until it got to the point of wanting to smash the TV in! Aaaargh! I mean, it's nice that they're playing them at all, but get some new episodes! Another one they play all too often is the Tenessee Ernie Ford episode!
