Well, having completed the Nick at Nite Log back at the beginning of the year, was fun and I have since been on a break.

I had originally planned on doing a Nick at Nite's TV Land Log, but I have no way to find schedules from the years I really wanted to do (1996-2000) which where the best years of Nick at Nite's TV Land's existance thus far. For those of you who missed out on those years, my deepest sympathies. You missed Nick at Nite's TV Land airing unedited episodes of some of the greatest shows (That Girl, Mister Ed, The Addams Family, Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, etc.) and what commercials they did air where retromercials. This is a far cry of today's TV Land (NOTE: I did not mention Nick at Nite's TV Land because the network no longer goes by that title).

So now, I had requests from people and have now decided to focus my attention on WTBS Superstation, now it just goes by TBS Superstation. The network launched in December 1976 and I've determined I can go back to May of 1982. This date is for sure, however, I may be able to go back a few years more.

I've decided the log layout will be as follows:

1. Since this is a 24/7 network, I'm only focusing on the sitcom/classic TV aspect. If there's a timeslot missing, it will be due to the fact that TBS aired Movies, News or Sports.

2. Listings will be given by months.

3. Times will be Central Standard

Here's a sample from May 1982:

May 1982

SUNDAYS:

8:05AM Lost in Space

WEEKDAYS:

7:05AM I Dream of Jeannie
7:35AM My Three Sons

2:35PM The Flintstones
3:05PM The Munsters
3:35PM Leave It to Beaver
4:05PM CNN News (NOTE in the log this would not be listed)
4:35PM The Beverly Hillbillies
5:05PM The Andy Griffith Show
5:35PM Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
6:05PM Carol Burnett & Friends

10:05PM All in the Family (Time varied due to Sports and Movies)

Mission: Impossible and The Rat Patrol were used as fillers during early mornings.

SATURDAYS:

7:35AM The Partridge Family

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds good! If you ever are interested in trying the TV Land log again, I can help with a couple lineups from 1996, and everything from December 1997 on. (I have an extensive satellite magazine collection.)

Well, you're going to have to wait. I'm shooting to have it done February 1st. Which, a year ago at that time, I finished my Nick at Nite log. Just be patient eveyone, this is time consuming and being a college student, I have limited time. Right now, I'm on Christmas break, so I have some time to work on it.

I am new to the board and was serching for old lineups...has this been posted yet? If so, where can I find it? I love old lineups especially for cable channels which you normally don't see.

It hasn't been posted yet. But I can't wait to see it completed. He did such an awesome job with the NickatNite log. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. When do you think it will be done, Boeschner?

I'm sorry, I am way behind, so I'm not going to put time limits on this project. It just hasn't been a priority but I have a good start so ... we'll see what happens. At this time college is more important.

Patience

Thanks,

Brandon

Well, I would like to thank everyone for their patience. I have now got time so I will now be able to do some major work on the log. Hopefully, I will be able to post it by the end of the month.

Also, look for updates in my Nick at Nite Log in the near future.

I have had superstation TBS since the fall of 1982.

2 interesting things about TBS...

1. get a copy of the 1980 film "Little Darlings" with Kristy McNichol
and Tatum O'Neal and a young Matt Dillon.

Keep your eye on the scene of McNichol and her mother pulling into the parking lot to drop the kid off at the camp bus.

if you don't blink, in the background you can see a billboard advertising WTBS-TV 17. In fact I believe it was still using the calls of WTCG ( Atlanta's channel 17 calls before TBS ).

Since they went "superstation" in 1976 and this film came out in 1980 ( I assume it was filmed in 1979 ), I wonder what was on "the superstation" at this time.

Also does anybody remember Bill Tush? He anchored the "local news' on WTBS, then called the "TBS Evening news". I seem to believe he also did some kind of "local" comedy show on TBS during the late 70s and early 80s.

Too bad reruns of "Real People" are shown anymore, if memory serves correctly they feaured Tush and Atlanta's WTBS-TV 17 in one of their stories.

That would be very interesting viewing today.

Good job.

I've also made a log companion, a little more detailed. If it's too hard to read as a .txt document, I also have it in word. Let me know and I'll upload the word document.
