Alot of the good shows get very bad timeslots. In my oppinion I Love Lucy is the best series of all time and N@N is running it at 1:00AM in the morning. I can also remember when PAX-TV purchased the rights to the Here's Lucy series and only aired it for 4 months. Shows like these and Chico and The Man are the shows that should be getting the good timeslots and not these other less popular shows. I hope that Chico and The Man has a better timeslot in the near future.

Oh, you are SOOO right!! I have to get up early every morning so staying up 'till 1am to watch Lucy is unfortunately out of the question. And I used to watch Here's Lucy 'till it disappeared. Makes me wish I programmed my own network! All these shows would be on when people are actually awake!! I mean, I can hear tired VCRs breaking everywhere.

I'm tempted to buy one of those Tivo recorders. They claim you can just set it and thats it . It will keep recording whatever you put in.

Has anyone heard the reason that CATM hasn't hardly been shown in reruns? I had heard it was because there were so few episodes made; too few to allow it to go into syndication (or something like that). That sounds like a dumb reason. Haven't there been other shows that have ran just as long that have been "re-ran" to death?

Thats sounds like networks or whoever making a poor excuse cause i can count numerous tv shows that have produced less amount of episodes than CATM and have been re-run to death over and over.

Yeah, shows like The Munsters and The Addams Family only ran 2 seasons. In fact, so did the Monkees. I wonder if it has anything to do with the show being controversial, you know, like the portrayal of a latino the way they portrayed Chico, etc. At least that's a theory my ethics & media prof. shot at us one day.

I dont think its cause its controversial shows like All in the Family and Sanford and Son where controversial and they have been showed in re-runs for years. I think it must have something to do with the way Freddie died. Back then and its obvious how since Freddie commited sucide people seemed to just act like it never happened and didnt want to talk about it. Kurt Cobain took his own life the same way as Freddie and he was given tribute upon tribute and was acknowledged as a legend in music and everyone was talking about it so it was easier to understand in a way. I wasnt born yet when Freddie past so i could be wrong as to how it was but just by seeing those episodes without him and hearing some of the stories from people who where alive back that is how i see it.

I have no idea what Kurt Cobain sings but I noticed he got alot more attention than Freddie did. I noticed the Monkees only had 66 episodes. Alot of good shows like CATM haven't been shown in yrs. It used to be yrs ago that re-runs of 50's & 60's shows were shown in tv in the afternoons in the 70's but nowadays the 50's/60's & 70's shows seem to be on TVLAND & maybe NICK @ NITE & TNN. TBS used to show some old shows like BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, ANDY GRIFFITH, & BRADY BUNCH but quit those in favor of newer shows. SO N@N got BRADY BUNCH & the others are on TVLAND. So far only BEVERLY HILLBILLIES marathon was on TVLAND so far. It is odd how Chico was never re-runs since Freddie died other than the re-runs at 11:30am for awhile after he died. I remember I used to get up in time to watch the re-runs of CATM.

The only reason (I think) is the way he died. After he passed, they wouldn't put the series on. (some people mentioned they did have it on after a couple of years). The spanish station had it on because, I was flipping the channels and I saw him on. Ed was speaking spanish. That was like 2 years ago. This is the first time I get to see the whole CATM series.

You guys are probably right. My prof. thought that Redd Foxx was in CATM, so what could he know? As far as Kurt Cobain and all the tributes, it's amazing how we could take two similar situations and treat them completely different. Kurt Cobain (in my opinion) wasn't that great of a guy, why did he get all the tributes and not Freddie? But then, that predates me by two years.

I never was a Kurt Cobain fan and I can't understand why they gave him so many tributes and not other "greats" who died the same way...As for Chico not being shown in syndication...It may have been something to do with the family~~i.e. his mother, god forbid Kathy...or maybe just for the sake of his son not knowing really what happened~~I read in Jr.'s book that he really didn't know what happened until he was about 11 or 12....Some kid told him he was going to end up like his father....A dead junkie...I thought that was really sad and cruel....Jr. said he thought his father died of an overdose of prescription drugs...He also said he had heard there was a gun involved but that until that kid said that to him he could not figure out how...

It always seems the really good shows get the worst timeslots. I also enjoy watching "Maude" and "My Favorite Martian",but their time slots are terrible! Nearly everything I enjoy watching comes on while I'm still asleep!

Kids can be cruel sometimes. I hope Freddie Jr knocked that little punk out for saying that.
