Several times the writers gave of the pleasure of catching us off guard, and making us fall on the floor laughing. It wasn't so much by the words as by the actions.

What were some of your favorites?

One of mine was when Dorothy and Sophia dressed as Sonny and Cher. Sophia was cute, but when Dorothy came out, it was like Cher had returned. I still laugh when I see that episode.

When i saw the thread title that is EXACTLY what i was thinking. The first time you see that is just like WOW, you fall off the floor. So yes Sophia, and Dorthy dressing like Sonny and Cher gets my vote.

But another one is Blanche and Rose walking into the kitchen dressed like nuns, while Angelo is staying at the house

And of course, Blanche's bursting breasts.

The first time I ever saw the end of the episode called, Love Me Tender. At the end of the episode, all the girls get turned on by Dorothy's boyfriend Eddie (you know the guy, he does the voice of Piglet on Winnie the Pooh). Anyways, Sophia comes in and she literally jumps on him (since I'm on a cartoon kick, much like Scooby jumps on Shaggy) and they go flying out the door. Sophia jumping on him was totally unexpected and downright hilarious.

In Room 7, when Sophia jumps off the roof of the plantation. Seeing the little mannequin fly by was hilarious and that whole seen was totally unexpected.

In Sophia's Choice, when Rose brings the black couple out from the side room and when Sophia pushes the guy in the wheelchair and yells "Runaway wheelchair, runaway wheelchair"

In, Rites of Spring, when the girls get the same hairdo as Sophia and when Blanche and Dorothy come to the exercise class with their flashy new outfits.

In, It's a Miserable Life, when I first saw Frieda Claxton fall over after Rose told her drop dead, I couldn't stop laughing. That was a bit unexpected, especially when you never saw it before.

In 'Twas the Nightmare Before Christmas when the Hari Christna crept up and offered Sophia a flower and she scared him off.

You also have to admit, in A Little Romance, Rose's dream wedding was pretty outrageous

When they are at the dance marathon and Rose shows off her moves!! :D

Yeah, I love that scene too. I also like when Blanche starts her little speech, "All right, just what in hell are you all staring at?" :lol: It just cracks me up everytime.

The girls go to a nudist resort (unknowingly) and decide to take it all off for dinner. When they get to the dining room, everyone else has clothes on.


When they get stranded on the island and Rose yells, "shut the hell up! I'm in charge here!"


And when Blanche asks Dorothy if that's not a heating pad, I'd like to know what kind of electrical appliance she has under that blanket. :wave:

Oh, there are so many hilarious scenes but one that stands out in my mind is from the episode shown in the UK yesterday, The Commitments. I love the scene where Blanche tries to seduce Jerry at that tacky Wikki Wikki motor lodge. I love it when she jumps ontop of Jerry and then that trapeze falls from the ceiling :lol:

When Trudy fakes her death, and then catches Dorothy and Jack in bed together, and then they pull off the covers and have their clothes on.


When Dorothy invites Sophia's sister Angela over from Sicily and finds out that they really hate each other.

The one where all the girls are dating the same play director, and then they find out that he's been dating like 20 other women.

The end of the episode with Lazlo (The sculpture dude) the girls all find out after chasing him that he has a different orientation.

One more....

The one where the guy that running for Mayor (the one that accused Blanche of sleeping with him) they find out that he was really a house wife 20 year prior.

The one scene when Blanche and Rose enter the hospital room that Sophia is in and they are dressed as cats and Sophia yells "MEDIC". I always find that scene hilarious, I always bust out laughing.

The other is when Sophia pulls a psycho move or stunt. Bursts in the kitchen and has a knife in her hands and scares the daylights out of Blanche, Dorothy and Rose. I think that is a classic.

I need a price check on some condoms... the two here have the lambskins, and the blonde [Rose] has the ultra-sensitives... in black...

The time when Dorothy's son wanted to marry the Black woman and her family comes over and Rose and Blanche walk out of the kitchen with mud masks on.
