I sent the mods in trading post TJ and Robyrob private messages Thursday morning cause i would like them to remove two topics i started. It's now Sunday and i haven't heard back or had anything done.

Any help?

I think you need to be a little more patient. Your private messages were all over the place. There's no need to have a conniption about it.

I closed the threads. I don't have the time or interest in being involved with a lot of unnecessary drama, so I hope you can settle any problems with other members yourself. I can't do anything about people posting in your threads. It's a public forum.

The site is running fine right now. There are no timeouts for anyone else. It's about 5-10 times slower for you because you are using a proxy and older operating system and browser.

Every site is going to have some periodic slowdowns. I've tried to address those issues. There's not much more I can do besides block the bots. There's always new ones popping up. I can't do anything about it at 3 AM in the morning when I'm sleeping.

LOL Dude111 are you high jacking my topic?

Thanks Todd. I wasn't having a conniption fit. I kept changing my mind if i wanted the topics completely removed or just users comments removed hence the multiple messages.

On the topic of slow websites since Dude111 brought it up. There's no reason why a VBulletin website in 2025 should be running slow. Sounds like it's a bad / cheap server, or there might of been a bad update on VBulletin itself.

I generally don't remove entire threads because it would delete other members' posts. You only wanted them removed for self-serving interests. You don't get to dictate what gets deleted from your own threads. You had an opportunity to respond to any critical posts.

It's definitely not a cheap server at $199 a month. It runs perfectly fine about 95% of the time. You would think the world was ending with the constant complaining about it. Maybe go outside and get some fresh air if it's a little slower than usual at times. Walk the dog or something. It will eventually stabilize and correct itself.

The issue is with the amount of bots connecting. I don't know how other sites deal with it. They probably have better servers that can easier handle sudden surges of connections. I've been looking at Cloudflare. They have an option to automatically block all of the AI scraping bots.

Ya I dont ever see this on city-data Todd.... Dont they have bots connecting??

No other site im on has this problem........ It makes me think they are DDOSing the site..... DDOSing would cause these slowdowns..........

I remember one time CD was being DDOSed and they were slow like this until they took care of it.....

LOL Dude111 are you high jacking my topic?Im sorry buddy..

I just wanted my trade posts to be cleaned up. My mistake was responding to the potential trolls. I've learned not to respond anymore. But now i have three trade posts, two on the first page that are identical. Would look so much better if i could just keep the newest one.

About post count. The users wouldn't lose many posts, they can post in chit chat and get back the 1,2 or 3 posts they might be missing if both topics were removed in less then 5 minutes. No big deal.

Hope you reconsider and remove both TJ! Have a good night.
