When it comes to kids merchandise especially toys based on movies and cartoons and TV shows there is usually toys that are made to compete with the real toys and if you go to a dollar store or dime store or even stores like Big Lots you'll see action figures that are Marvel figures but are not and fashion dolls that are supposed to be Barbie dolls but aren't and even Disney toys that aren't Disney toys. In Sesame Street's case I don't think there isn't any counterfeit Sesame Street toys. Because how you can tell you have an authentic Sesame Street toy is that it will feature the Mattel/Fisher Price logo on it's box. But the one Sesame Street toy that might be counterfeit are plushies because they are very common. Because how you can tell if a Sesame Street plush character is authentic is the noses are felt and the eyes are sewn on. But there are plush Elmos and Big Birds with plastic eyes and plastic noses and you can't tell who makes these plushies because they will often have no tag attached to them. Counterfeit toys have always been known to be found in dollar stores and I don't know why Sesame Workshop is suing over counterfeit Sesame Street toys in the first place but hopefully when the lawsuit ends Sesame Workshop will give stores a warning if this continues ever again
