In the 90's TV ruled the world and while you had your sitcoms dramas and anything you name daytime TV had an impact in the 90's with soap operas and daily morning news shows and talk shows began to take effect in popularity during the 90's. While Oprah Phil Donahue and Geraldo were still going strong. The 90's saw some new faces making their talk show debuts starting with Jenny Jones in 1991 and when Jenny Jones made her debut she hoped to make herself a household name because before making her mark as a talk show host Jenny Jones was best known as a contestant on Press Your Luck in the 80's and whoever thought that a game show contestant would have the talent to host her own talk show with such skill. Also in 1991 Jerry Springer made his debut and while other talk shows sometimes dealt with serious subjects Jerry was indeed a tough guy and as you watched Jerry Springer's talk show you could see why there was tons of fighting and excitement on nearly every episode. And when Maury Povich debuted his talk show Maury became a household name and became the popular talk show host. But we also saw Hollywood actors try to become talk show hosts with actress Ricki Lake starting her talk show in 1992 and it's no secret why Ricki Lake became a talk show star because she is amazing and we saw the same thing with Howie Mandel with The Howie Mandel Show in 1999 and Danny Bonaduce with Danny in 1993 and while those talk shows were promising both Howie Mandel and Danny Bonaduce's shows were cancelled due to weak ratings. But if anyone were to ask you the best part of 90's TV you would most likely say the talk show era
