In 1995 Post debuted Waffle Crisp which was cereal shaped like mini waffles with a drop of syrup added. To honor it's debut Post launched a commercial marking the debut of the Granny Factory which were grandmothers that made Waffle Crisp. The debut commercial begins with kids tasting the new cereal when suddenly a girl demands the secret recipe for Waffle Crisp and the kids tell the girl how the cereal is made while cutting to a scene of the grandmothers hard at work then when the kid finishes the story an alarm goes off and the girl pulls out a box of Waffle Crisp while removing her disguise as she is really one of the Granny Factory grandmothers then the commercial ends. At first glance waffle flavored cereal really ain't bad after all it's clever so I guess Post made Waffle Crisp to be a successful cereal and it's still on the market today. But Post sure took a chance with this cereal
