View Full Version : Uneven facts about Oscar's Scrooge dream

In the dream Oscar is constantly referred to as Ebenezzar (sp?) Madison. But the grave at the dream's end says "Oscar Madison".
At one point the substitute for Marley's Ghost jumps out Madison's window and reappears with a cast on the arm. This cast soon disappears.
The sprit tells Madison that the familiar looking man is his (Madison"s) clerk, Bob Cratchit. Ebeneezar says he has no clerk.
How did Oscar know the way Speed, Murray, Roy, and Vinnie were going to be dressed for the play. And note, their play clothing is identical to the clothes he dreams they wear. But further note, that the night cap (or stocking cap) Oscar wore in the play is quite different than the one he wore in his dream.
Notice that is December and freezing out and Oscar is seen going in the elevator and then presumably leaving the building while wearing nothing but his slobby jogging outfit minus any coat.

The Odd Couple is filled with inconsistencies. I mean for crying out loud how many different ways did the show say Oscar and Felix meet?

It's a dream remember?

The dream factor will not explain how Oscar managed to dream correctly the way Speed, Roy and the others were really to dress for the play. To say nothing of Oscar going outside without a coat. And I think it's a prop mistake the way Marley's substitute loses the cast.

Also, as much travelling Felix did in the army, you would think he would be a 4 star general

and the time Oscar says he forgot to return the tuxedo he wore at his wedding, but another time you see he didn't wear a tuxedo.

the 2 shows that have a lot of errors have to be "The Odd Couple" & "MASH"

I still would have liked to see Speed play Ebeneazer Scrooge as a auctioneer!!!

Also, I think Oscar's apartment is cleaner after he wakes up from the dream than before he went to sleep.

I wonder who in the play played Mrs. Bob Cratchit! They only seemed to have men in the cast!
