This is another example of the curse of the legalized sports monopoly. It benefits no one but the owners, the sooner the line is drawn in the sand the better. Congress should hold hearings for the purposes of undoing one of their worst mistakes, permitting the merger of the NFL and AFL. It's time for the NFL to giveback for all the benefits received from the stupid decision to allow that merger.
The NFL should be given the choice to break up into smaller groupings (5 or 6 teams a league with no common draft) or begin aligning itself more with public interests. All sold out home games as well as all road games must be available in market on an over the air channel in perpetuity. All postseason games (no exceptions) must be made available on an over the air network in perpetuity.
