I hope this helps. Kline had a reoccurring role from seasons 1 to 3. In season 4
starting with new intro at Santa Monica pier he finally got billed as main character role.

It was about a year in between Larry's 1 and 2 appearance.

Larry appeared once in season 1. It was the episode he gives the roomates a dog. In the first half of the 2nd season Larry was not on at all. It was in the second half of season 2 we saw Larry a few times.

Of course I could check the episode guide, but I'm not sure if Larry had yet made his 2nd appearance by the time the episode of Jack working in Janet's flower shop came on. If not, it wouldn't be long before we saw Larry again.
