In 1993 Duncan Hines created a milestone in history by creating the first ever microwave cupcake mix called Duncan's Cups. To honor their launch a commercial was made. The commercial was simply a step by step guide on how to prepare these cupcakes and then ended with Duncan Hines 90's slogan/jingle "How To Bake Your Moist Delicious Best". I can remember my teacher and I discovering Duncan's Cups when we were baking some cupcakes for a classmate's birthday party and I had never seen this mix in my supermarket before. And so my teacher and I made the cupcakes in the microwave and they came out delicious and even my teacher was amazed at these Duncan's Cups and they even had a carry box to carry your cupcakes too. I wonder why Duncan Hines quit making these because it was a new at the time innovention in baking?

When you watch this commercial you can see why Duncan Hines was hoping that Duncan's Cups Microwave Cupcake Mix would gonna sell because I think it was a smart innovention that had never ever been done before with baking cakes and cupcakes. When I saw this commercial I never knew you could bake cupcakes in the microwave. As I mentioned in my opening post my teacher and I had a chance to try out Duncan's Cups when I did baking class at school and we were baking the cupcakes for a birthday party of a classmate and when my teacher microwaved the cupcakes they came out amazing and hot and I was surprised at how good they tasted. It's a shame that Duncan Hines discontinued this amazing innovention of a cake mix because it looked great based on the commercial. I wonder why microwave cake mixes have disappeared like Duncan's Cups?
