C.O.P.S. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COPS_(animated_TV_series)) was a 1 season syndicated (https://radiodiscussions.com/threads/c-o-p-s-central-organization-of-police-specialists-cartoon-syndication-listings-1988-90-the-new-thread.745706/) animated series based on a toyline called COPS n' Crooks (https://www.transformerland.com/wiki/cops-n-crooks/cops-n-crooks/) and then sometimes also just known as COPS (https://scififantasylitchick.wordpress.com/2023/01/23/tv-review-c-o-p-s-1988-1989/).

Hasbro bet big, bringing in a lot of talent to work on what they saw as a possible successor to GI Joe. But that didn't really work out.

But COPS (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WesternAnimation/COPS1988) still has it's place in history with a toyline revival happening recently.

When it came to 80's cartoons DIC Entertainment was the king of 80's cartoons and in 1989 they saw a vision for developing a kid-friendly police cartoon and thus Cops was born and even though it was a one season show Cops had action excitement and adventure in every episode. But when the show ended in 1990 I think DIC Entertainment was gonna make a new cartoon based on Cops but that never saw the light of day. So when CBS decided to air reruns of Cops under the title CyberCops CBS thought that they could revive Cops but the only difference was between the original Cops and CyberCops was a segment was added at the end of each episode that was sponsored by the California Highway Patrol and DARE that taught kids lessons about staying away from drugs and safety tips on things like staying home alone and stranger danger. But if there was any cartoon that would be remembered by most 80's kids Cops would be the one

Remember That Show? Ep. 30: COPS (1988) (https://rememberthatshow.transistor.fm/episodes/remember-that-show-ep-30-cops)

It's crime fighting time! Adam and Will are guilty of getting excited about the short lived animated series C.O.P.S. from 1988, which was based on the toy line by Hasbro. But more than a discussion of the cartoon, the hosts can't stop talking about their favorite childhood action figures! So tune in and get ready for a real nostalgia trip.
