D-Dey 02-19-2025, 01:13 AM Any group home associated with a notoriously abusive mental institution or school for special needs kids. Then again, I'd probably take the opportunity to set up an underground railroad to help some of those victims escape, if I could find a network of like-minded supporters. What happens when they get out? Will you be supporting these people? There are those who just shouldn't be out on the streets. What I think should be done, though it requires a lot of funding, is to build a small community for them rather than warehousing them. It's similar to those dementia villages I've seen where they live in small homes and have shops and restaurants that they can go to. Some of the residents "hold jobs" at these various places if they are able to do that. JamesG 02-22-2025, 12:11 AM With the exception of a nuclear power plant and homeless shelter, the rest are all pretty much around where I live. I don't know who wouldn't want a hospital in their neighborhood, good luck to you if you need one. D-Dey 03-19-2025, 07:53 AM What happens when they get out? Will you be supporting these people? There are those who just shouldn't be out on the streets. I wouldn't do that much to interfere with their lives beyond that. You have a lot of people who are only in these places because at one point in their lives, parents, teachers, and other adults didn't like some aspects of their personalities, and thought placing them in special schools or mental institutions would rid them of whatever trait offends them, when all the kids end up with is abuse and addiction to unnecessary pharmaceuticals. Some people are physically unable to care for themselves. Some people are physically unable to care for themselves. Yes, and a lot of kids are dumped in both who aren't necessarily mentally ill, but get stuck in them because they have adults in their lives who want to keep them down. Ever hear of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder?" It's a fake mental disorder slapped on kids who resist abusive and suppressive adults. The characteristics according to DSM-III are kinds who have "negative, defiant, disobedient, and hostile behavior." In other words, a convenient way to stop kids from defending themselves against abusive parents and teachers, or simply seeking their own lives. Little Johnny fights back when you beat him? Just accuse him of having ODD. Suzy's ready to tell the authorities that you're raping her every night? Have her committed to Sagamore Children's Center. You may not want to face this, but characters like "Baby Doll" from Sucker Punch aren't just fictional. |
