Murphy, who died Sunday at age 92, played the henpecked landlord George Roper on the 1970s British sitcoms Man About the House (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzAEyTcYQW8) and George and Mildred (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_Cpb7qo0kk), which were adapted as Three's Company (https://www.reddit.com/r/threescompany/) and The Ropers for American TV. Man About the House ran for six seasons, from 1973 to 1976. The Ropers aired for five seasons, from 1976 to 1979.

I recently watched some episodes of Man About the House and George and Mildred on YouTube. Although I prefer Norman Fell’s Mr. Roper over Brian Murphy’s, I thought that Brian was pretty good in the role. I’m shocked to hear that he passed. RIP. :(:rip:

I need to track down a copy of the movie they made called "George and Mildred" . I have the "Man About The House" movie they made. RIP
