Late in the show's sixth season, Betty Jo was pregnant with a second child. Then all of a sudden in the next season she wasn't and no second baby ever appeared. Anybody care to comment on this?

From what I understand Linda Kaye Henning did not want to go through another on-screen pregnancy.

I often wondered if it was emotional aftermath for her from the first on-screen pregnancy and the loss of Bea Benaderet, the show’s matriarch. Bea only was able to film a few shows leading up to the birth of Kathy Jo and became too ill to appear on PJ.

The letter Linda (Betty Jo) read on “The Valley Has A Baby” she said was a very difficult show for her and the rest of the cast because they knew Bea would not be back, though she did the voice-over for her reading of the letter with Steve.
