Seinfeld may not hold up in all regards, but Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Elaine Benes is a character ahead of her time and my favorite part of the sitcom.

That's an interesting take, considering the show has made the comment that women are difficult to write for. But I don't see Elaine as any more unlikable than the other characters. They're all self-absorbed.

Plus she's easy on the eyes.

and the fact that she was added later. she wasn't part of the original pitch for the show.

but i agree that she's fabulous and i couldn't imagine the show without her!!!!
