View Full Version : Cheese and Crackers!!!!!!!!!!!!
chicosladyfair 04-13-2001, 03:02 PM Sit back and **** yer pistols because you ain't gonna believe this no how!!!
I have a son who is 11 years old and really has no knowledge of Chico and the Man...thanks to T.V.Land!!! He knows who Freddie is from seeing his face plastered all over my computer but he doesn't know much about Chico.
Anyway, I was just sitting outside with him watching him attempt to break some fallen branches from a neighbors tree...like 11 year old boys will do...and he was having trouble with this one particular stick when he looked up at me and said, "Oh, Cheese and Crackers!"
I asked him where he'd heard that before as I was picking my jaw up off the porch. He said, "I don't know...just thought I'd say it."
Now, I ask you...how freaky is that???
Do you think that all this talk of Freddie watching us from above has opened up a doorway somewhere?
From all that I have read about Freddie's childhood, I find similarities in my son...he's a bit chubby and takes quite a bit of teasing about it...he doesn't seem to quite fit in...but he has endless talent. Maybe I'm just a mother who wants to read too much into this...maybe I'm just freaking myself out...maybe I'm just out there in left field somewhere from the lack of sleep due to last night's episode. Who knows?
But I do know one thing...my son has never said this before until this morning and tonight is the last episode with Freddie in it.....
EdBrownJr 04-13-2001, 03:18 PM Thats pretty cool. Well i for one am always using the Freddie line Loooking Goood!!! Imagine if your son just belted that out and told you he did it for no reason.

chicosladyfair 04-13-2001, 03:59 PM I think if my son had said that...it would have sent me over the top. I hope it's not time for the rubber room.
MariposaLKB 04-13-2001, 04:18 PM That's pretty freaky, all right!
Now could someone give me an example of an episode in which Chico used that line? I swear I don't remember it!
Cheryl Harrell 04-13-2001, 05:02 PM I'd heard that saying for yrs but didn't realize it came from Chico. I thinhk he says it in an epsiode where he does a Groucho Marx type thing-- not quite sure...
chicosladyfair 04-13-2001, 05:40 PM I remember him saying it when he was shocked about something that was said...he put his hands on the sides of his face...you know, like that kid did in the Home Alone movies. I can't recall which episode it was in but I remember it being real cute...everything he did was real cute. I remember him saying it with a real thick spanish accent so maybe it was hard to catch.
Karen64 04-13-2001, 05:40 PM Wow-that is kind of weird!! Maybe some of his friends at school caught the marathon or something and the phrases are going around all over again like when we were young. Or maybe it's something bigger-who knows? http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gifIt's neat to see so many young people who enjoy the show (& seeing it for the first time) My kids sometimes watch videos of CATM with me. Sometimes my son, who's 8 yrs old, recites the lines and scenes from the show, along with Chico's funky little walk- I just end up ROFL; in stitches!!!! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Was also funny when my 2 yr old girl said "looky dood!!" after Chico had just said his famous catch phrase!
MariposaLKB 04-13-2001, 05:46 PM My 8 year old daughter has developed this thing where she goes, "Uno, dos, tres, LOOOKING GOOOD!" and gives me a high five! Her 3 year old sister tries to say it, but "tres" comes out "freees"! LOL!
Pitooey 04-13-2001, 05:56 PM Oh Oh! My 4 year old daughter loves Chico. When she sees him on T.V. I ask her Who's this? She says Chico! One time I was looking at a Freddie Jr. movie & I forgot and I asked her Who's this? & she looked at him puzzled... (?) I told her Chico & she looked back at the T.V. still puzzled. I had to explain that it was Freddie Jr. Chico's son. (She didn't understand). http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif HAHAHAHAHA
Esmerelda 04-13-2001, 09:09 PM Mariposa,
Teline "cheese and crackers" was said during the juror episode with Della Reeseas the judge. Chico says it when she tells him that Ed will be prosecuted for tampering with a juror.

chicosladyfair 04-15-2001, 01:37 AM Enjoy being young Ed. I'm 36 and it doesn't seem possible that Freddie's been gone for 24 yrs. It just seems like the other day.
Luckymama58 04-15-2001, 11:19 AM I'm not trying to play can you top this, I know I'm not the oldest member here, but try 43 and I still lusting after Freddie. I dated guys 3 to 4 yrs older than I was and married one that's in the same age bracket, so, for me, Freddie was the perfect age difference. (sigh)
Pitooey 04-15-2001, 08:25 PM WELL - As the oldest one in the groupo! I say 46 is still fine like wine!
Cheryl Harrell 04-16-2001, 02:31 AM Age 40 in June checking in! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
