Barney Miller. Once it figured out what type of show it would be and dropping the family part it was exceptional. It tackled a lot of topics very well. The Jeffersons had the advantage of being a spin off from All in the Family which was the best show of its time. The Jeffersons was very generic except for the rants that George would have.
