I saw Mermaids for the first time last night, it was pretty funny. Third Cher movie I have seen, second with her in a leading role. Although Winona Rider seemed like the real lead, billed below Bob Hoskins really? Caroline McWilliams from Benson has a minor role. Mermaids airs again on UP this coming Saturday at 8:30PM and Sunday at 2:30PM. It made a strong addition to my 1990 favorite movies, 2nd ranked out of 7.

Mermaids is another one of my mom's favorite Cher movies "The first Cher movie being Moonstruck" because it's such a cute movie and I didn't think I'd like it at first but when my mom and I watched it together I loved Mermaids and this is one movie where Cher shows her comedic side and when paired with Winona Ryder and Christina Ricci this film really shows Cher's comedic talents and with the late Bob Hoskins Bob and Cher really did make a great pair when it came to movies. Interesting it was because of Mermaids that Cher's version of It's In His Kiss "The Shoop Shoop Song" became a smash hit and Winona Ryder and Christina Ricci also appeared in the song's music video. But if you want to see Cher show her comedic side Mermaids is the best Cher movie of 1990
