Right now I'm watching an episode of M*A*S*H on TVLand, actually it's a two parter called "Our Finest Hour", which is one of those shows a reporter comes to the camp, and is presented in a documentary style.

Watching this now, I realize this is a clip show. Where they take a bunch of "greatest hits" type of clips from the series and patch them together to make an episode. Then I noticed these are the fourth and fifth episodes of the seventh season.

I tend to hate clip shows. I see them as little more than reruns, and I find them lazy. Why write a new show when you can just put together a bunch of clips? I wonder why they needed to do this so early in the seventh season. If it was near the end of the season, I could understand maybe they ran out of time or ideas, and put this together. But why did they do this when the season just started? Did they get behind early on?
