When Britcoms end in their last episodes do they seem to sum up the whole series, and make everyone move on? I always wondered if they just ended with a normal episode or sort of wrapped everything up?

Thanks.:D

I don't know about all Britcoms, but I do watch a lot of Black Adder, one of my favorites, by the way. They did some sort of finale at the end of every season, since each season was set in a different time period of the history of the Blackadder family.

The most touching one was the final episode of the fourth Blackadder series, when the entire cast charged out of thier trench to certain death on the front lines of World War 1.

One of the saddest finales of any series, British or American.

Thanks for replying, I'll be sure to watch the Blackadder series sometime. It seems since that a lot of britcoms don't have many episodes they don't seem to really tie the whole series up at all.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't... I can't think of any examples at the minute though! As far as I know though, none of them have been left on cliffhangers or anything.

Ok, thank you both for answering my question.

Your question about Britcoms reminded me that "The Young Ones" series just came out on DVD. I have to go get that today!

I think most Britcoms have proper endings, some don't maybe because they don't know that the show will not have another season.

The sitcom "Only Fools and Horses" had 3 endings made to it but after a couple of years each time they kept bringing it back and finding ways to change the ending.

i have a question. the PBS stations here in the USA air select episodes of "Are You Being Served?". well, i've never seen it but was there ever a final episode of "Are You Being Served?" or was it taken off the air without a 'final' episode filmed?

I might be wrong but I think I saw the end of the last ever episode recently and it was some kind of dance routine- so I don't think there was an ending.
