Being the main star of two successful sitcoms that lasted a combined 17 seasons is rare. First off for Tim Allen was the mostly high quality Home Improvement. He even had the #1 TV show with it, the #1 movie The Santa Clause, and the #1 book all at once. Home Improvement just lost out on staying #1 that year, losing in the end to 60 Minutes. Last Man Standing where he has three daughters instead of three sons was never that much of a smash hit first run but has done well in syndication. Tonight is the premiere of his 3rd starring sitcom, for the first time he will play a widower in Shifting Gears on ABC. Kat Dennings is the leading lady, his estranged daughter. I thought 2 Broke Girls was awful but have since become a fan of Beth Behrs from The Neighborhood. We shall see if the same thing happens for Kat. I plan on watching the first three episodes of Home Improvement starting in a few minutes on LAFF and some Last Man Standing episodes on UP, where they are in its best season the first before Kristin was recast and it became too political. Then the Shifting Gears premiere of course. Fitting it premieres the night before former President Jimmy Carter's funeral. Home Improvement was the only sitcom Carter ever guest starred on.
