DeDe, that's what I was afraid of. I've never seen the movie---I always wanted to. However, so many of those made-for-TV movies that are cranked out right after someone dies do not do justice to the person or situation they represent. I would rather read a biography-I only wish I could get ahold of a copy of Freddie's mother's book!

I said this before, Only his friend Nat and his ex. could tell us if he was really like this.... They knew him better. If he was or wasn't, We have to remember that Freddie was a very young man. Males mature slower than females, Things were going very fast for him. Nothing will ever sway my adoration for Freddie!

As I said... The movie was really negative in form and it came from the Playboy story they wrote about him...And MOST if not all of it was NOT true.....Yes Freddie did drugs and yes he lived life on the edge...But come on....LikeI said, you need to red the Playgirl interview...And get things from the horses mouth....Freddie may not have told the whole trth in that interview,but he did tell enough...

in the movie they pronouced freddie's last name "pruetzel" like this Prut-zel. without the e.

Okay here goes about his name?? No problem there..Just wanted a catchy name..ASked his mom to look in the phone book for anybody with the last name of Prince with a z in Mannhattan... There was none just with a c...So he chose Prinze with a Z like the prince of comedy...Pretty sharp

I read somewhere on the internet that his name was Freddie James Prinze & that his real name was Fredrick Karl Pruetzel. So I wonder if that means he fully legally changed his name. Just curious.

I think his real name is Frederick Karl Pruetzel. When he was doing stand-up comedy he said "Bob Hope is the King of comedy" so I'll be the "Prince of comedy" so he changed his name to Freddie Prinze with a "Z".

Everybody listen up, Freddie of chico and the man was born Frederick Karl Pruetzal. He changed his name to Freddie Prinze. His son is named Frederick James Prinze. He too changed his name too Freddie Prinze jr. when he came to Hollywood little freddie is not a junior. His father and him have different middle names. Just wanted to clear up confusion.

I just saw the movie again today. "Drugs" really made a mess out of our dear Freddie. Some people can handle drugs and not become addicted. Others well they do become addicted. The sad thing is everyone ran away. They couldn't handle his addiction & personality changes. He made it though!! He became a **STAR**. That's what he wanted. Let's all remember that he's resting in peace now. He has no more pain. Sorry to post such a sad topic but, the truth to the matter is "this is what really happened". I still love Freddie, I miss him & he left a mark on my life & I will never forget him. You did it Freddie!!!

Thanks for the info on Freddies name! I didn't realize JR wasn't a JR. They sure call him that in the media. He's not as cute as his dad tho. I've never seen him act before tho but he seems like a nice kid. I may have come across something listing both Freddies on it. That gets confusing they way the write some of it & you don't know which one they are referring too.

Its sad i have often noticed that some people would rather not get themselves involved in a situation even if they know what is going on. Now its there choice but you will realize who are your real friends and who arent.

As for Freddie, I just feel that everyone turned a blind eye in the face of his talent. Especially those in the business like James Komak. "If he's going to be a money-maker being high...then let's keep it that way." This is not a quote so don't get alarmed. It's just that I can imagine thigs like this being said. Who knows?
Young stars will continue to kill themselves until Hollywood gets a "no tolerance" attitude. They need to learn that it's not chic to be a junkie.

Chloe - You are so right! Now as for Freddie Jr. I recall that when he was born back then - they named him Freddie Jr. from the get go. The newspapers all stated that little Freddie Jr. was born. Sure he may have a different middle name but back then he was known as Freddie Prinze Jr. same as today.

Okay in the movie Freddie was smoking pot in his room while living with his mother. Do you think this really happened? I'll be darned if my son smokes pot in my house and disrespects me but, I had friends whose mothers would allow them to do this. At the time I thought their parents were hip. Some of them would tell me "Hey my mom doesn't want me to do it outside - something could happen to me"! (?)
