Hey Guys,

I know that with the cable and satellite companies, new TV channels are a matter of contract negotiations and licencing with regard to new channel additions. But, with so many companies having been upgraded to digital cable I would like to know what "new" channels are on the horizon for next year. (So much stuff is out there now and we have digital, so we have everything with regard to the standard services.) When I say "new channels" I am not inquiring about services that are out now but not carried by a present cable or satelite system. I am referring to channels that are "hot off the pressess new" So if any of our board administrators could give us a list of what new services we might see in the future, that would be cool!

Jack

P.S Here are some ideas that I HAVE for new channels:

TV Land 2: They did it for Nick with Nick Too and Nick Toons. I don't think there is enough shows in TV Land's vault for a second network, but if they ran shows like 3 hours later, I could finally see The Bob Newhart Show at a better timeslot!

The Meditation Channel: Shows that offer relaxing programing devoted to classical music, the arts, arts/crafts, stories, stress-reducing techniques (etc.) I would love to see Bob Ross's The Joy of Painting picked up again!!!

Your TV Land 2 idea is stupid and a waste. If they were to do something like that I would rather see it like the VH1 and MTV Suites. They could have TV Land Comedy, TV Land Drama, TV Land Western. Or go by decades, TV Land 50's TV Land 60's etc.

I like both ideas, but yours AJ2086 is the type of channels I constantly think TV Land needs; they could have their own Satellite/Digital package, like HBO, VHI, MTV, etc. I think it would be cool. I'd certainly pay a little extra a month to see TV Land spin off channels (I doubt there ever will be any, but it would be great if there were) I think decades would be they way they'd have to go. Just Comedy, Drama, Westerns limit the possiblilites, IMO, but are good ideas.

I personally haven't heard of any new channels surfacing. One network that's been around for a while, is GoodLife TV. I would love to get that on DirecTV. It's very limited on Digital Cable, but has great shows. I know that DirecTV recently added a new channel, Fine Living. I guess the name is all the explanation I can give it, since I haven't watched it at all.
