I was watching UM on the last week in september (not sure if it was a rerun or not). the Case was about a young college student ( don't remember her name) that was coming home from school for summer break I think and she met up with some old friends at a local bar, later that night she left the bar alone and her car was later found on the side of a hwy (hwy was heading up a small hill where the car was found) detectives believe she was killed there and the killer was more than likely pretending to be a police officer and thats how the killer was able to get her to pull over on the hwy. Her body was found a few days later, several miles from her car. There was an update of the case and they had found the killer he was an author (I don't remember his name). UM said there would be further info in a "future episode".

Does anyone remember this case (names)? I would like to read a follow up on it but don't remember her name or the killer's name other than he was a author. Thanks

I remember that case. I believe the girls name was Amy Willard but I can't say for sure.

If it's the case I think it is, I remember it well. It was a black guy who killed her, and he was none of the three suspects presented in the segment. The girl was a top lacross player. I don't remember her attacker's name, I'm sorry.

You're correct about the name, except that her first name is Aimee, instead of Amy. Aimee Willard was murdered in June of 1996 in Pennsylvania. Her killer, Arthur Bomar, was later convicted of the crime, and is currently sitting on death row.
