"Georgie & Mandy" Enlists "Young Sheldon’s" Pastor Jeff to Mediate In-Law Feud — 2025 FIRST LOOK (Exclusive)

TVLine can exclusively reveal that "Young Sheldon" vet Matt Hobby will reprise Pastor Jeff in a February episode of the CBS spinoff "Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage" — an episode that also brings back Zoe Perry as Georgie’s mother (and the church’s most devoted congregant), Mary Cooper.
In the episode, titled “A House Divided,” Mary and Audrey (Rachel Bay Jones) “compete for their granddaughter’s love,” according to series co-creator Steve Holland. Eventually, Jeff attempts to play mediator between CeeCee’s well-meaning grandmothers. “I don’t know that he’s doing great, but he’s certainly trying to [mediate].”
“Mary and Audrey butt heads, they don’t see eye to eye, and that’s a fun thing we haven’t gotten to explore,” Holland tells TVLine.
“To put them head to head… felt like a really fun episode to do — and when we were breaking that story, it also seemed like a great chance to bring Matt Hobby back. It was so much fun to have him, and so much fun to put [those characters] in front of an audience and get a little Pastor Jeff sprinkled in our lives again.”
