Does anyone remember Dorothy Lyman on "All My Children"? She played a character named Opal (that's where my name comes from, btw) in the early 80s. Did you also know that Carol Burnett is a huge AMC fan and appeared on the show many times? I have all her appearances on tape! LOL! :D

Dorothy Lyman's probably more famous for Mama's Family, but to me she'll always be known as Opal Gardner. I have several episodes of AMC with Dorothy as Opal. Go back & read some of the older threads on this board, I made a couple threads about Dorothy being Opal & her AMC days. Dorothy Lyman is indeed soap royalty. I also loved her as Gwen Frame on Another World, the character of Gwen was very similar to Opal. Welcome to the boards, Opal!

I found a picture of Dorothy as Opal! This is when she was working as a maid for Phoebe Tyler Wallingford. The man in the picture is Langley --- Phoebe's con-man husband. Opal had an affair with him! LMAO! :lol:

I don't think I remember her being on AMC, but she's still well known as Opal in soap land ;)

I know she produced and directed alot of "The Nanny" episodes as well :D

I think I read that Dorothy is coming to the soap As the World Turns for a short term role :D

What do you mean? Because she is getting older? She was born in 1947 which makes her 57 years old! All too soon my dear!:D
