Egan Opts Out of "AMC"

Actress Melissa Claire Egan is leaving "All My Children", which means the end of Annie Lavery as we know her. The actress has opted not to renew her contract in part to try her hand at primetime and features.

Egan issued a statement on her website, saying, "I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave the Pine Valley family that I have come to love and respect so much. ...

I have had the privilege and honor of working with the most talented and fun cast, crew, producers and directors imaginable. I have learned so much from them ... I am unbelievably grateful!"

Egan taped her last scenes on Jan. 11, so she will be on the show throughout the month of February. No word yet on whether "AMC" will recast.

Currently, Annie has been wigging out over JR (Jacob Young), so she could be written off for some psychiatric evaluation in a mental hospital.

Underwood's Exit from "One Life to Live"

Langston Wilde will be checking out of Llanview.

Actress Brittany Underwood has been dropped by "One Life to Live", along with her stagnant storyline. Underwood's character, Langston, is part of the Cramer women storyline, but she hasn't had much to do lately. She'll be on camera until the spring.

It wouldn't be surprising if she's simply sent to an out-of-town college.

Underwood commented about the exit on Twitter, saying to her fellow workers:

''Thank you all so much for your kind words, I will miss you guys more than you know. It has truly been a pleasure."
