Sorry "All MY Children" and "One Life to Live" fans, Oprah Winfrey cannot save your soaps.

Since ABC canceled the long-running soap operas, fans have been issuing pleas for Winfrey to bring the shows to OWN. She's heard the cries, but can't be do anything about it.

The exiting queen of daytime took to YouTube to issue her statement.

...because she's having enough trouble trying to lure viewers to her own OWN cable channel without "going bankrupt". She can't afford to sustain ANY soap operas- now and in the immediate future. I pity those people who believed Oprah could have done something to save "ALL MY CHILDREN" and "ONE LIFE TO LIVE". In the meantime, you can see as much of Gayle King and several other Discovery shows on her channel as you want....

I didn't think she'd pick them up. There still are people out there who don't have cable, and even people with cable may not have access to OWN. So from a business standpoint, the cost of putting those shows on cable doesn't make sense. It would be more logical for another network to do so, and we all know that won't happen. Sad but true. :(
