I don't know if during that time frame, she was getting very picky about the projects that she would take on (https://www.datalounge.com/thread/29513082-why-didn-t-elizabeth-montgomery-become-a-movie-star-). But regardless, that appears to be the longest that she went in her career with out working save for narrating a 1988 documentary film called Coverup: Behind the Iran Contra Affair.

Liz Sheridan (Jerry's mom on Seinfeld) was a very close and dear friend to Elizabeth Montgomery and she said on Elizabeth's A&E Biography from 1999 that Elizabeth "didn't think she was funny".
