clipon or the real deal?

Wouldn't it be easy to choke a cop with a real one?

I think clip on was regulation by then.

It's been nearly 50 years since I wore a clip-on necktie (I'm not a cop though), 1976 or so. I always thought they were for children only...!

Tying the "real thing" is not difficult, though once in a while I'll leave one in a loop, to put it back over my head (if I know I'll need to wear it again soon). Laziness. :)

I think that clip-ons were the only kind of tie that my grandpa ever wore and he wasn't a cop.

A distant cousin of my grandfather, who was approaching 90 when he passed on, continued to wear neckties he tied in a simple manner, in what's nicknamed a "banana knot."

As opposed to the "Windsor" or whatever the hell that's called, which I think is how I was taught.
