There are many actors who had other careers that people knew them from outside of TV. I wonder what who would be on that list.

Penny Marshall directed movies. She counts

Jerry Paris directed TV shows so he wouldn't count.

So you get the idea.

Chuck Connor was a professional baseball and basketball player as well as an actor.

Bobby Sherman became a paramedic. Oddly enough after being on Emergency

Ronald Reagan (he hosted GE Theater) became governor of CA and then President of thr United States.

Fred Grandy was in the House of Representatives, Al Franken was a Senator

O.J. Simpson started out as an NFL football player.

Fred Rogers was a minister, so was Huge Beaumont.

Wayne Rogers became a financial wiz.

Stars -- they're just like us! Sometimes they're working on major Hollywood projects, and sometimes they end up in surprisingly ordinary jobs.

I think one of the few actors who changed careers from a part they played was Bobby Sherman who became a paramedic after guest starring in Emergency. I did mention him eain this thread.
