I watched the episode when the Trio received a new couch from Mr. Furley this morning on TNN and I was wondering why was a new couch added to the set.

:confused: i think the old couch was put in the Smithsonian Institution? if that's not the case, i think the couch was stolen or Janet sold it without Jack knowing about it? i recall one episode where money's hidden in the couch (i think $10,000!) and Terri or Janet sold it witout knowing about the money and they search everywhere for it? that's what i remember anyway. i think that the trio couldn't buy it back because the person who bought it wasn't selling and so they bought a new couch?

I think Jack got the money by mistake from an ATM and hid the money in the couch, planning to return it to the bank. The same day Mr. Furley decided to get them the new couch they'd been asking for. I know they buy the old couch back but I'm not sure how the whole issue gets resolved with the money.

I know why the couch was added on the episode. I'm asking why was a new couch added to the Three's Company Set at the beginning of season 8 and stayed until the last episode.

I'm not talking about the episode. I'm asking why did the producers decide to add a new couch to the three's company set at the beginning of season 8?
