I have been hearing so much hype about the new movie version of Wicked that I think people are hoping it will be a holiday hit once it makes it's debut in theaters. Because I have seen Wicked toys such as dolls and Lego sets which tells me that this movie version of Wicked will be a hit. I didn't know about Wicked until one of my aunts saw the play on Youtube and she liked it and I got the Broadway Cast Album of Wicked and I liked the songs and got me started liking Wicked. I am surprised that there is gonna be a Wicked movie because when you take some Broadway plays and make them movies some work and some aren't what it's cracked up to be. As we saw with Hairspray and Mamma Mia they were great film adaptions of Broadway plays but I think with Wicked it's gonna fall in the same category as Mamma Mia and Dreamgirls and most likely be in the running to win loads of Oscars at the Academy Awards next year

As we have seen with Broadway plays they have a certain appeal and I think Wicked will draw a huge audience mostly fans who have seen the play many times. But I am curious to see how well Wicked will be as a movie because there has been many versions of The Wizard Of Oz including The Wiz from 1978 so it will be easy to see how a Wicked movie will turn out

There's gonna be a Wicked II released next year? I'm surprised because Wicked itself isn't in theaters yet and already there's a sequel in development. Guess they expect the movie to be a strong hit and a winner

While I am interested some in seeing this version of Wicked, I wish the version with Kristin Chenoweth was released in theaters. :(
