Lately the channel FXX (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FXX) has been going downhill because of carriage disputes (https://www.reddit.com/r/DirectvStream/comments/1f534md/if_directtv_loses_fxm_fxx_and_freeform_like/) and also the removal of shows from the lineup, could this possibly lead to the closure of the network someday?
The only sign that the channel may have a chance is that this year they’ve made new bumpers for the remaining shows on the network and there’s been no announcement or insider information on the future of the channel, so only time will tell.
If FXX were to shut down (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/19dfyqb/is_fxx_really_likely_to_shut_down/), Disney could just move The Simpsons (https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSimpsons/comments/1efw84f/anyone_remember_the_fxx_every_simpsons_ever/), Archer, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to the main FX channel, meanwhile the other shows like Bob’s Burgers can continue being licensed out to air on third-party networks, especially Adult Swim.
Back in 2022, I thought the channel was at their peak and could very well rival not only Comedy Central, but also Adult Swim; which is really saying something!
Ever since the bombastic September 2021 rebrand, they were heading in the right direction by dropping live-action programming in favor of adding more FOX toons and building up a FOX animation channel. I thought they would continue adding more shows such as The Great North, but that may not happen. FXX could've been so much more....
