Well I am at it again. I think sometime that I should change my screen name to Crazymama from Luckymama. :crazy: :lol:

I got this wild idea. A while back we had a role play on here that was HUGELY popular. Also a while back, a group of the fan fiction writers decided to try their hand at what I call a story circle. We took turns writing a story about a character based on Freddie. (we did this through private e-mails) Both of those ideas came and went and I had a ball doing both. Now I had an idea to bring back the story circle idea for the boards.

Here is the deal:

I am going to start and original CATM story. Since I am starting it, I have made the executive decision to have the set be the third season with Della living across the alley and Chico in his sexy batchelor pad instead of the cramped van.

Here are the rules:

1. Anyone can go in any order.
2. You can introduce new characters to the story at any time, but let us know something about them.
3. You can use any of the regular CATM characters you want.
4. Please limit your writing at any one post to about a paragraph or two, to allow for creativity among the group.
5. Please leave an open sentence at the end of your writing to facilitate the imagination of the next poster.
6. Please keep this in good taste (I hate to have to put that rule, you all are always in VERY good taste here! LOL)
7. Feel free to add pictures, if you want, to your posts.
8. This is an original work. It is like our way of writing new stories about CATM.
9. I will have a seperate thread for questions and comments, like we did with the role play. Please use that, so the story on this thread flows smoothly.

I hope that we won't have people posting simultaneously. That could be a potential problem. If so, I guess I will have to moderate it. Believe me, though, I won't be doing much in that respect. I know you all are a creative bunch, especially when it comes to CATM and Freddie :loveya: I can't wait to see what you all come up with. This should be a hoot! :lol:

Well let me get the ball rolling. And let me know what you think of this idea on the "Behind the Story Circle Scenes" thread!

Chico had his head under the hood of a 57 Chevy, fixing the distributor for a friend, when Ed came out of his office door.

"Chico?"

Chico raised his head too fast and hit it on the upraised hood. "Ouch," he mumbled to himself as he rubbed his head with his hand. "Yeah, Ed, I'm kinda busy. Whatcha want?"

"Nothing, I just want to let you know that I am going to the bank and then to the auto parts warehouse. We are out of some things."

"OK, Ed, I'll be here with this motor for a while. I'll hold down the fort."

Ed Brown shuffled out of the garage and Chico went back to work.

Later, as Chico removed himself from under the hood, he turned around and ran smack into a pretty, young, female. She had long brown hair and blue eyes. She looked in her twenties and her sweet, high pitched voice rang in Chico's ears as she said, "Oh excuse me," in a breathless tone.

"May I help you?" asked Chico, being the gentleman that he was.

"Oh, could you?" she asked again, in that same breathless tone. "Could you hide me?" Before Chico had time to react to this odd request, a police siren was heard in the distance. The girl looked with a pleading despiration into Chico's large, chocolate eyes. "NOW?"

Chico seems baffled by the strange request, but being the witty guy he is, says, "You could hide in Ed's filing cabinet, but I don' think you're gonna fit in there...no offense!...He hasn't been able to find anything in there since 1952!"

The girl shot Chico a look that told him this was no joking matter. Quickly losing his dazzling grin, he offered, "Maybe you should try my apartment." The girl looked even more puzzled, with a touch of offended. "Where's that? How far?" she asked, trying to catch her breath. "Right over here," Chico took her by the elbow and led her to the small room at the back of the garage that had once been part of the storeroom and was now where he spent his off-hours.

Once inside, Chico offered the girl a seat on the couch and a drink of water. As he sat down beside her, she threw her arms around his neck and gave him a passionate kiss. Pushing her away after a moment, he exclaimed, "What was THAT for?!"

"That was for coming to my rescue I hope you don't think i am terrible but the sirens you heard, I am sure they were for me. Thank you so much for helping me."

Heh Heh........ I have a habit of helping everyone who asks me. May we try that again? ;)

Chico grabs the girl by the shoulders and tries to score another kiss...The girl pushes him away and cries "get serious!" and says something in Spanish...

Chico says, "Oh, man, ...you really ARE in trouble, aren't you?"

"But before I can help you, will you mind telling me WHAT you did to get into so much trouble??" (while softly stroking her long, silky hair)

Well I Uh.......... just came from down the street and I noticed a man shuffling around. He was old and gray and a little dirty and he was drinking a bottle of bourbon so I....................

Chico stands back and exclaims "Ed! Ave Maria Purisima! What happened?!"

What? Chico asked. Is Ed alright?, he asked with concern in his voice.

The woman spoke with a spanish accent. Senor, she said. I was walking down the street & I found the old man passed out. I went over to see if he was okay & he was unconscious. So I ran to get him help.

Chico spoke his eyes filling with tears. No senorita, this cannot be. He has to be alright. He just has to Chico said.

She looked at him with a frightened look & Chico could sense there was more to the story than she was telling. Seniorita, you must tell me more Chico begged. Is he alright? Chico begged the woman tears welling up even more in his eyes. Please senorita!!!!

Senior, she spoke. Someone is after me. They tried to shoot me & I fear they have shot the old man meaning to shoot me. So I picked him up to try to revive him. The police came by & I could tell they thought I had something to do with it. So I ran as fast as I could to get away from them & to try & get the old man help...

(I hope I did okay on this)...

Just at this moment, Ed walks in and yells. "Chico?" Then he mumbles under his breath. "Where is that kid when you need him?"

Chico tells the woman to stay put in his apartment. He goes out into the garage, happy to hear Ed's grouchy voice. He goes over to Ed and grabs his face and starts to kiss his cheeks. "Ed, sweetie, baby! I am so glad you are alright!"

Ed pulls away from Chico, thinking he has gone crazy. "Of course I'm alright. But I ran into the police outside. Seems some wino was just shot. He is going to be OK, but they are looking for a woman. Long dark hair, blue eyes. Apparently she is a fugitive from another crime and now might be connected with this shooting. Have you seen anyone like that?"

" A fugitive!?!" Chico thought glancing back at his apartment. "Caray!" Chico paced back and forth nervously wondering why she was a fugitive. "Why is she on the run?" Chico watched from a distance wondering how could some one as pretty as she was be on the run. Turning back towards Ed Chico eagerly rushed towards Ed as he embraced him. "Thank God you alright!"

On the outside he is rejoicing that Ed is safe, but all the time they are hugging, Chico is trying to figure a way to keep Ed from finding out that his apartment is harboring the very fugitive Ed has just described. "Ay Dios mio, how can I get her out of here without Ed seeing her? The only way out is through the front door!"

Chico decides he must at least keep her in the apartment long enough to find out exactly what is going on with her. And if her story is believable enough, he chuckles to himself, maybe before he lets her go they can get to know each other even better!

"What are you laughing at?" Ed wants to know. Chico didn't realize he had laughed out loud, and has to quickly cover for it. With a grin he exclaims, "Oh, Ed, I am just sooo happy that you are OK! Why don't you go upstairs now and take a little nap? I'm sure all this excitement has made you tired."

Ed agrees and heads up to his room above the garage. As soon as he closes the door behind him, Chico goes back into his apartment and stands over the girl on the couch. "Now then," he demands, "Why don't you explain to me what this is all about?"

Lo sienta senor I do not wish to get you involved in my troubles it is just that I have no where else to turn and I am frieghtened.
I know i owe you an explaination but i don't know where to begin.

Just then Chico hears a noise outside the room. Shhh Be quiet!!! He tells the lady to stay put!

Chico leaves the room and he encounters two policeman waiting ......................

At that moment, Louie comes strolling in singing at the top of his voice,

"Stick out your can, 'cause here come the........ policeman??"

Have you two seen anyone suspicious come in here?

Chico tells the policeman Amana, Amana, Amana........

Police - What did you say?

Chico - No one has come in here officer. I'm hard at work here fixing these er cars...

Then Chico looks up to see two familiar faces looking back at him.

"Smitty! Hoppy! What are you guys doing here?"

"Oh hey Chico! We've been re-assigned to the barrio. The bosses thought that maybe Hoppy would fit in better."

"Yeah, with my hermainos latinos!"

"Uh, it's Hermanos!"

"Right!"

"Well, Chico, have you seen anyone run past here? We had a shooting a ways up from here. We need all the help we can get on this one."

"Ummm, well, do you have idea of who you're looking for?"

(Oops I just saw Dani posted her part before I did mine. Mine should've been first I guess. Sorry about that...)

Scene Watts, LA-- Sanford & Son Junk Shop

Officers Smitty & Hoppy made their way to the front door of Sanford & Son & knocked on the door. They hoped someone would answer the door & figured Fred & Lamont must be home because their truck was in the driveway.

Fred: Go away we're not here. We're dead.

Lamont: Now Pop quit being that way. You're gonna scare customers off.

Fred: I just want to go back to watching my gameshow on TV.

Lamont: It won't kill ya to help out a customer once in awhile would it Pop?

Fred: It might if my blood pressures up.

Lamont: Your blood pressure is not up. You know the doctor checked it out last week & said it was normal...

Lamont goes to answer the door. Hey Smitty & Hoppy! What's up? He asks...

Smitty: Hi Lamont Hi Fred! Well, we came to tell you some news.

Hoppy: Howdy there Fred & Lamont! We felt you should find out from us first instead of some stranger.

Fred looks at him warily...

Smitty: It has come to our attention that we are being temporarily taken off our beat here & being put on another beat for a few weeks while they are working on a big case in another part of town.

Hoppy: In other words Mr. Sanford we are temporarily going to be working in another district for a few weeks & they we will be back on our normal duty in a few weeks. We wanted to you to be the first to know.

Smitty: That's right.

Hoppy: Right down father!

Smitty: You mean right on brother!

Hoppy: Whatever. That is correct.

Lamont: Man, we're gonna miss you guys. What kind of case is it?

Smitty: We would love to tell you Lamont, but it's top secret.

Hoppy: Yes, that is priviledged information that we are not allowed to divulge to anyone.

Lamont: I got it. I assume you have replacements lined up to take your beat.

Fred: They never tell anyone the good stuff...

Smitty: Yep, you'll soon be meeting Officers Chang & Ramirez.

Hoppy: A man of Chico descent & a man of Chinese descent...

Fred looks upset.. Oh no! It's the big one Elizabeth he exclaims clutching his heart & falling backwards as if he is having a heart attack. Not a Chicano & a Chink! He adds.

Smitty: Is your father gonna be alright?

Lamont: Yes (Looking towards Smitty) he always pulls this stuff when something comes up he doesn't like. (Looks towards Fred) Will you stop that pop? There is nothing wrong with having cops who aren't black. Look at Hoppy, he's not black.

Hoppy: I might not be black but I am still a brother at heart.

Fred gives him a strange look getting up from his heart attack stance.

Smitty: We thought we'd say goodbye before we go. We'll stop by & let you know when we are back.

Just then Fred's sister-in-law Lamonts Aunt Esther walks in the door pushing Smitty & Hoppy aside. She is wearing a polyester dress & a hat with a flower on it & carrying a large handbag & her Bible. You beady eyed fish eyed fool she yells at Fred hitting him with her pocketbook, holding the bible in the other hand. How dare you look at me like that when I am holding in my hand the word of the Lord! She adds...

Fred: What's that for you old bag? (Glances at her with a hateful look). Esther glances hatefully back at him.

Esther: I'll tell you what you...

Hoppy: We'll I guess we'd better go & let you have a nice visit with your Aunt Esther. We'll be seeing ya in a few weeks.

Smitty: I'd guess we'd better go. See ya in a few weeks. Later brother.

Lamont: Later, man.

Fred: Aren't you even gonna go save me brother?

Smitty just shakes his head as he & Hoppy leave.

Lamont: Now Pop...

Back at the Barrio:

Meanwhile back at the barrio Chico is looking to see who the two policeman are & hoping they don't see the lady before he can find out some more information from her...

Louie: We have seen no suspects in this garage........

Chico: That's uh right we've saw no suspects.............. No gun! Nada....... Zilch...

Ed: Who woke me up from my beauty sleep???

Ed: Cops??? Chico! What are they doing here?

Louie mumbles under his breath, "Beauty sleep he says?.. Looks like he better go back to bed and set his alarm clock for 1989!"

"I heard that you trash can traitor!! What's going on here!?"
Demanded Ed as he stomped down the stairs to investigate.

Just as Ed comes down the stairs, Chico notices that the door of his apartment is opening slightly, as if the girl inside wants to see what is going on. Needing to distract everyone very fast, Chico pretends to slam his hand in the hood of the car he was working on. Crying out loudly and holding his right hand in his left, he dashes into the apartment--locking the door behind him--and pushes the girl all the way back to the couch, sitting her down and collapsing beside her, exhausted with the effort of keeping her a secret. After a minute he sighs and turns to face her, taking both her hands:

"Mira, chiquita (Look, little girl), you need to be straight with me NOW! The cops are right outside that door, looking for you! I can't help you get away from them if you've done something they need to arrest you for--my conscience won't let me!"

The girl hangs her head for a moment, then looks up at Chico with her eyes shining with tears. "Lo siento (I'm sorry), senor! You have been so sweet,"--she puts her hand on his cheek and leaves it there as she goes on, a little smile at the corners of her mouth-- "and you are such a beautiful man...I wish we could have met under different circumstances! I don't mean to involve you in something that could have you feeling guilty for nothing! It's just that...my baby and I were starving..."

Oh great--Chico is thinking to himself--she has a baby! Wonder if that means she also has a husband? She really is a pretty girl, and she seems to be digging me...maybe if whatever she has done isn't too serious, I can ask her to a movie when this all blows over?

His thoughts are interrupted by a loud knock on the door, and Ed yelling, "Chico, are you alright? Come out here and let me take a look at that hand!"

"Not to worry Senorita that is my amigo and my boss Ed Brown he is a muy Bein man."
Turning to the door Chico calls."Give me a minute Ed,I'll be right there."

Lady: My daughter and I were very hungry and I went into Pancho's grocery store in the corner of Lexington and Vine when all of a sudden I saw 2 masked men grabbing the owner Mr. Sofrito by his collar and demanding money..............

Tears fill the ladys eyes & she begins to cry. Chico puts his arm around her to comfort her. He reached in the pocket of his tight bellbottom jeans & pulls out a hankerchief, reaches up with it & begins to wipe the tears from her eyes. Please go on Senorita, he says wondering what her story is...

Lady: I hid behind the cans of creamed corn and listened to the bandits. :crying: They told Mr. Sofrito to give up the money or they would shoot. At that point Mr. Sofrito opened the cash register and started to hand out bills to the masked robbers. That's when one of the cans of creamed corn dropped to the floor.................

Chico: :eek2:

"What did you do then?!" Chico asks breathlessly, shaking his head in amazement at the story so far.

"Well, the can hitting the floor distracted the robbers, and I managed to grab the gun from one of them. I had never even held one before, but I knew that if I didn't shoot at least one of those men, Mr. Sofrito and my baby and I would be in even more danger!"

The girl bursts into tears and flings herself back into Chico's arms. He strokes her hair and shushes her for a few minutes, then asks, "Did you shoot someone, chiquita?"

Looking up into Chico's compassionate face, the girl wipes her eyes with the hankie he had given her before, nodding slowly. "Who?" Chico wonders aloud.

"Mr. Sofrito!" the girl practically screams.

Just then the door of the apartment bursts open and Ed and Louie come storming in, followed closely by the police officers. Ed turns back to stop them when he catches a glimpse of Chico's visitor, smiling nervously and telling the cops, "I can handle this--Chico is always hurting himself and I have never needed an ambulance yet!"

The officers back away and Ed closes the door, his smile fading as he looks Chico in the eye.

Ed: Chico What's the meaning of this??? Who is this young gal???

:D Louie: Yeah Chico? Who is this bright, attractive, energetic, senorita that you have here all alone in your room???? Huh Chico? Ooooooooooooo and She's a pretty young thang too!!! :D

Ed: (Shoots Louie a dirty look)

Louie: Look Ed Ain't she pretty? :D

STOP THAT! Ed yells as he jumps up and Down. "This is serious Louie this must be the fugitive and our Chico seems to be harboring her!"

Ed: Chico what is the meaning of this,what is going on here?"

Chico looks at Ed with a look like he is wondering what to say to him & how to explain things. He is hoping the police won't barge in & find him harboring her. Chico looks at the girl & sees she is now sobbing in his hankie. He senses she is so upset & distressed & wonders what is up & how he can make things better for her & comfort her. It's okay, they won't hurt you, Chico says sitting down next to her & putting his arm around her to comfort her.

Chico: (Get's an idea) Look I have an idea....... What is your name Miss?

Lady: My name is Prunilda Ortega.

Chico: Really? Uh well...... Prunilda listen........ put on these clothes. (Chico goes to his closet and takes out a pair of bellbottom jeans and a psychadelic shirt) he throws them at her all the while listening at the door.

Ed: Chico!!!

Chico: Shhhhh.... Ed Everything will be allright.

The lady looks at the clothes & a look of utter dismay comes across her face. Oh Senior, she says bursting into tears. I cannot fit into these clothes! They are too small for me. She takes Chico's hankie & starts sobbing in it again.

Chico turns to Ed & speaks. Well Ed? Do you have a size 18?

Ed replies, Don't look at me I don't wear dresses!

Chico answers, Maybe she could fit into one of Margarets old dresses.

Ed: Margaret didn't wear a size 18! You know she wore a size 10!

Chico: No I don't know. I never knew she was a size 10. The way you talked about her I thought she was a size 12.

Ed glares at him with a scornful look as if he doesn't like it that Chico thought Margaret was bigger than she was.

The lady is still crying thinking she'll never be able to fit into anything they bring her...

Chico: Wait! Della is on the heavy side. Maybe she's got something Prunilda can fit into.

Ed: are you crazy? Getting Della into this. Sweet, dear, lovely, innocent Della.

Chico: Huh? Last week you couldn't stand her!

Ed: Yeah, well this week I haven't paid my rent for the past month & I know the next time I see her she will be very upset at me.

Chico: Well I should say so! Ed you need to start paying your bills instead of throwing them down on the floor. Just this week the bank, the auto parts shop & the phone company have been calling & hounding you because you haven't paid your bills yet! I had to stall them...

Ed: Quit trying to change the subject Chico! Now who is this girl & why are you harboring her & what kind of trouble is she in????

Ed looks aggravated at Chico. Prunilda wails something in Spanish.

Ed: Well are you going to translate or do I have to call up Mando on the phone & get him to translate for me?

Chico: Uh, Ed I hate to tell you this but they disconnected your phone this morning because the bill wasn't paid.

Ed: So that's why we haven't been getting any calls. Ed has a big scowl on his face.

Chico: Back to the subject at hand, I think she said she needs a size 22...

Ed: Are you going to tell me what's up with this girl or do I let the police in????

Officer: Open up this door!!!

Ed: ( Rushes out) Look officer...... Heh, heh My partner is changing his clothes and he wll be right out. Would you 2 care for a drink?

Meanwhile...........................

Chico: Mira Prunilda..... You must try to put on these clothes so we can smuggle you out of here.

Prunilda: But I can't, They don't fit.

Chico: Just leave the pants open..... the shirt will cover you. Here, Here is an oversized old jacket. Now Hurry.............

Prunilda: Puts on the clothes.........

Chico: (Looks into a drawer and finds an old Halloween mustache) Here, Here put on this mustache and an old hat.

Just as Chico tries to help Prunilda, her blouse opens up to reveal she has food stuffed in her clothing.

Chico: You are not as heavy as you have said. What is this?

Prunilda: Lo siento, senor. I guess I am really in trouble. Look, I know your friend is keeping the police out, but he can't keep them out forever. I will level with you. I went into the grocery store to buy some food for myself and my daughter. I found I didn't have enough money, so I was planning on taking what I needed. I would some how pay Mr. Sofrito back when I could. That is when the robbers came in like I said before. It was strange that I was able to get the gun from one of them, but they looked young. Maybe it was their first hold up. Anyway, I didn't mean to shoot Mr. Sofrito. I think the older robber panicked when I shot Mr. Sofrito, thinking he would be charged with murder, so he ran after me when I ran. My daughter was still hiding behind some boxes when I ran out. I know both of the men followed me, so I prayed that she would be ok. I heard sirens as I ran, and I hoped the police would find her. I ducked into the alley to hide from the robbers, but they were quick. They followed me into the alley and as I ran into the old man laying on the ground, I tripped. One of the robbers shot at me, but he must have shot the old man instead. I was so frightened, I ran till I ducked in here. I don't know who I am afraid of more, the police or the robbers. You must help me, but I am realizing I must come forward and tell the truth. My daughter is still mixed up in this too. Mi bebe! She must be very frightened. She is only 6.

Chico: I believe you. Let's tell the cops everything. I will help you.

Chico helps Prunilda take off the duds and he looks into her eyes. Don't worry Mami......... I'll make things better for you..... (With that said he takes her by the hand and opens the door).

Louie: Man!!! All this happening around here and Chico doesn't get a kiss. My man is getting slow...... He's getting slow........

Chico grins at Louie and replies, "I ain't gettin' slow, my man--I got my kiss already, very early in our acquaintance--isn't that right, Pru?" Prunilda blushes and lowers her head, frantically whispering, "How are you going to make things better for me if all you can do is joke about me?!"

The door swings open......................................

Officer Smitty: Now who do we have here?

Ed: She's a fugitive, a fugitive from justice and she has my Chico hostage!

Officer Smitty: She does... Does she???

Prunilda: I can explain..........

Chico: Wait a minute! Wait a minute............. This girl is innocent!

Yes she is innocent, she has just told me the truth about what happened in the store and I am sure if you all calm down and listen she will explain everything."

Oops, double post. Lo siento!:rolleyes:

Chico invites everyone to sit down. He sits next to Prunilda on the couch and takes her hand to try to comfort her and get her to calm down enough to make sense.

Chico: Ok, Pru, tell the cops all you told me.

Prunilda: OK

She begins her narrative again for the officers and Ed and Louie, going over the same story she told Chico. When she gets to the part about running away from the robbers and leaving her daughter behind she breaks down.

Prunilda: O mi madre dios... My little Rosalita.... where is she.... where is mi mija......(she gets hysterical)

Chico: Shhhh calm down. We will find her. (To the cops) Have you seen her daughter?

Officer Smitty: Yes, she is down at the station house. We brought her in as a witness. She seems to have cooberated your story, miss. She misses you. We were mostly looking for you so we could get you two together. As for the shooting, Mr. Sofrito was badly wounded and is unconscious at the moment, but the docs expect him to make a full recovery. We have a watch on him and we need to take you into protective custody. We haven't caught those two men yet and they are considered armed and dangerous.

Officer Hoppy: We need you to come down to the station and make a statement now.

Prunilda nods her head and looks at Chico. As she tries to stand, her knees buckle and Chico holds her arms for support.

Chico: May I come down with her. She looks like she needs a friend right now.

Ed: (to Louie) And Chico is always more than obliging to ladies in distress. :lol:

Louie: You got that right! ;)

Officer Smitty: C'mon, C'mon, Lets go, Lets go........

At that point a lady enters the garage.............

Lady: Chico! I have not seen you for so long......... I've comed back!!!

Ed: (Looks at Louie) Here we go again............... :rolleyes:

The strange new lady continues speaking:

"I am so sorry MI amor Chico I should not have left you that night I have come back to beg you on bended knee If I have to to take me back.

Officer Smitty: Now, Now......... Everybody in the Paddywagon....... (He looks at the mystery lady) You too........

Chico: (Whispers to the lady) You shouldn't of come....... Don't you know it's over... It's been over for a while now...

Officer Smitty: Shut up back there!!!

Louie: Chico!!! Don't you know that I can get into trouble with my job? I have alot of cans to pick up..... Now my poor wife will be wondering where I am.

"Oh Chico mi amor I cannot believe you really mean that it is over between us I love you so I know now how wrong i was to leave the way I did but i love you, oh oh I cannot go to Jail i just got here I dobn't even know what happened!"

The mysterious woman yells as she is being lead away to the police car.

"Oh that I were handcuffed to you mi corazon Chico!
Chico blushes with embarassement at he display and he thought to himself.

"Why did ashe have to come back here now?"

Prunilda: Chico Is that really your love?

Chico: Heh Heh...... No Prunie....... Uh I mean Prunilda. She's just an old friend.

Louie: She's more than that! He was the light of her eyes. She fell for him like a ton of bricks Didn't she Chico?

Chico: Look Louie It's over between me and her Over!!!

Officer Smitty: Hey you back there!!! Didn't I tell you to shut up! If I keep hearing noise you will all be sent with the violent inmates now shut up!!!

Ed: Shut up Louie........ Chico I need a drink.

Chico: (Looking sad) :( I wonder what the outcome will be (at that point he looks at Prunilda)

Ed waves his hand in disgust, walking away, muttering, "Chico changes girlfriends more than I change my underwear! Now where's my bourbon?"

At that point the officers lead Chico, Prunilda, Louie and Ed inside the preceint. Prunilda starts to cry. The man behind the desk looks at her.

As Prunilda answers the questions, Chico see the mystery lady enter the room. She immediatly looks over to Chico and says............

the strange lady whom only chico seems to know is yelling

"I'm innocent do you hear me? Innocent I tell you! The only thing I am guilty of is a mad and passionate, burning desire for Chico my Corizon!!!!

Chico sees that Prunilda is occupied with her daughter and the police at the moment, so he takes the mystery woman by the arm and goes out into the hall where they can have a modicum of privacy.

Chico: Look, mami. I told you it was over weeks ago. I didn't make that decision, you did, when you decided you wanted that brute, Jose, over my suave, sophisticated, handsome self.

Woman: I know, I know, but you are right, Jose WAS a brute. Oh Chico, let's forget my sillyness. I want you back. I should have never let you go. Can you forgive me?

Chico: (Thinks about Prunilda inside and the warm feeling he had with her in his apartment.) I don't know, bebe.....

(With that the woman throws herself into Chico's arms and gives him a passionate kiss to convince him.)

Woman: Does that help you decide, mi corizon?

Chico: Well, ahem... I, well it is a great start, mami. :D (He reaches for her again just as Ed, Louie and Prunilda come out of the detectives office.)

Ed: Hey, Chico! Prunilda has been cleared of all the charges... (looks at Chico in an embrace with the other woman and turns to Louie):eek: Man is he ever a fast operator! I need a drink!

Prunilda: (Eyes Chico embracing the woman and gives him a scowl...

Nelly: (The daughter) Mommy who is that man? (Pointing to Chico)

Prunilda: (Bends down to speak to her) Nelly he is the man who has saved us baby......... He is a good man. (At that point she looks over to Chico):(

Louie: God almighty I'm free at last, Free at last (shaking his head). :cool:

Chico, realizing he has an audience, breaks the embrace and looks at Prunilda and Nelly. He realizes that here is a woman who really needs him and he remembers the hurt caused by the woman in his arms.

Chico: Pru, that is wonderful that you were cleared. I knew you were innocent all along.

Prunilda: Yes, but I am still in danger from those robbers till they catch them. I know how desperate they are, and my daughter and I are the only material witnesses against them. The police say they will protect me, but I don't know.....

Chico has to make a decision. He looks his former girlfriend in the eye and then realizes he never introduced her. Looking at Prunilda and Nelly, he decides..

Chico: Everyone, I would like to introduce you to Ms. Rosalita Gomez. She is a former girlfriend of mine. She came back thinking I was free to date her again, but I think she is mistaken.

Ed and Louie looked shocked :eek: , Rosalita mad :mad: and Prunilda hopeful :eyes: .

Prunilda: Nelly dear.... This is Chico.......

Nelly: Hi Chico........

Chico: Would you 2 mind coming to my humble abode and maybe staying there for a while?

Ed: Chico!!! May I speak to you?

Chico: Sure Ed...... What's up?

Ed: You would let a total stranger and her child inhabit my premises?

Chico: Look Ed It's until all the smoke is clear. Besides Look at Nelly Isn't she cute? She would make the garage a more cheerful place don't you think?

Ed looks long and hard at the little girl clinging to her mother, and finally says slowly, "Well, yes, she might at that!" Chico grins, "Aw, thanks mucho, Eddie sweetiepie baby!" He laughs his loudest, most melodious laugh as Ed shoots him a dirty look and Pru, Nelly, and Louie join in the laughter.

When they all calm down, Chico gestures to the mother and daughter with a little bow, "Shall we, ladies?" They all leave the precinct house and return to the garage.

Once they are settled, Pru and Chico sit in the window seat of his apartment, his arm around her and her head on his shoulder, as Nelly colors with the new coloring book and crayons Chico bought for her on the way home. Suddenly, Pru looks up at him and wonders aloud, "Just what did that other woman do that you had her arrested?"

Oh Pru y little fugitive i did not have her arrested perhaps it is because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time or maybe she resembles a gangster!" Chico threw his head back and laughed at his own joke and when Pru saw those beautiful dimples she nearly died in his arms.

At that moment Prunilda looked deep into Chico's laughing eyes and she licked her lips.:p

Chico: (sees Prunilda lick her lips and he licks his lips as well. He looks at her hungrily like a man who will soon kiss her) Prunilda baby............ Come here.......... (He closes his eyes and with one hand moves her head close to his and kisses her softly and then hungrily)........ (He moves with the rythm of a Latin man in heat)....... :kiss: :grineyes: :grineyes: :grineyes:

Nelly sees them out the corner of her eye. She puts her crayons down and watches them for a few minutes before interrupting.
"Excuse me, there is a child in the room." Prunilda and Chico stop kissing. "I'm sorry honey" Prunilda said as she fixed her hair and face, "You were so quiet, I thought you went out to play." Mando came running in hollering...

Mando: Hey buddy My friend..................... (He sees Prunilda and Chico looking a little uneasy).

Chico: Hey Mando.......... LOOKING GOOD................ Mando... This is Prunilda.

Mando: Hiya Prunilda (He takes her hand and kisses it).

Chico: (Grabs Mando's hand) Hey... Hey........ Can't you see there's a child in the room?

Mando: Oh Oh yeah..........

Nelly: That's okay Chico... You didn't mind me watching you kissing my Mom before he came into the room........

After a little nervous laughter, Chico turned to Mando and continued their conversation. "So, Mando buddy, what's up?" Chico inquired. Mando came into tell him that Della's food truck got broken into last night. "I can't find her anywhere". He was really in a panic. Ed came running....

"Did I hear you say Della's truck was broken into? Maybe she did it herself and went on a vacation to give us all a break from her tomain tofu."

"Ed shame on you what if Della is hurt or kidnapped!" Chico scolded as he stood and offered Pru his hand to help her off the couch.

"I'm sorry Chico you know I always get nasty when I'm worried lets split up and start searching.

Chico: (Shouting) Della! Della!! Where are you sweetheart? Are you hiding behind the van? (Chico looks behind the van).....

Ed: Della! Della......... Look inside the bathroom Chico.............

Chico: Now why would she be in there?

Ed: Chico! This is serious.......... Look in the bathroom. She maybe wanted to take a shower or something........

"Pru sweetie, will you please check in the bathroom for me, I don't want to see anything I shouldn't Della is old enough to be my.......


"Your what Baby?"" Della asked as she entered thge garage amidst the confusion

"...My sister." Chico replied :blush:

It had better not be mother or Grandmother, Della said looking sternly at Chico. Yes'm Chico replied looking sheepishly. Where have you been Della? Chico asked. We've been really worried about you he added. Della looking curious asked, Why on earth would you be worried about me, baby? I am just fine...

Ed told us your van was broken into and that you were missing.

He probably hoped I was missing! said Della

"Oh Della you know we all love you, even Ed he's just to old and stubborn to admit it."

"Old and stubborn why you..." Ed shook a finger at Chico.

"Well Della what about your van, and I'm glad you weren't kidnapped but where have you been?" Chico asked ignoring Ed's wrath.

Della: I just came from Andy Hardy's house around the corner, You know the house of ill repute.......

Chico: Oh yeah the house with those fine looking mami's........ (He turns around and sees Prunilda watching him :eyes2: and giving him the eye). Ah Ummm You know Ed the house of of.......

Ed: I know what house it is... The prostitute house!!!

Della: That's right Ed That house..... Theres some funny business going on in there.........

Ed to Dell: And let me guess you took it upon yourself to be the barrio better behavior beauru and straighten them out and they were holding you hostage against your will.

Della: No, No....... Mr. Wise guy!!! I just realized that alot of the drugs and weed that are sifting into this community are coming from that so called area! We've got to do something......... We all have businesses here in this community.

and tell me Della, just what do you propose we do?" asked Ed,
in the mean time the mystery girl from Chico's past has returned to the garage just as Ed made his comment

"Propose, did someone say propose? Yes Chico yes I'll marry you!"

"I said what do you propose we do no one said anything of marriage and who are you and what are you doing in my garage besides evesdropping?

"As I was saying Ed we have to find a way to stop all the sale of those drugs in our neighborhood...."

"I'll do anything I can to help." Replied chico eagerly.

Ed: Oh you'll help yourself allright! You'll just help yourself to some of those drugs! That's all we need around here...

Chico: (Talking in his best Hispanic accent) Do I look like a drug abuser Ed? I mean c'mon that can't be as bad as all that bourbon you slug down every morning!

Ed: I take that for medicinal purposes. But you young people do stuff like that to get high.

Chico: Medicinal purposes allright! (He grins...)


Della: (Looks angry) Don't you dare accuse that sweet dear boy of doing drugs!

Chico smiles sweetly & grins.

Ed: Who said I was accusing? All I was saying was these drug dealers could try to sell to Chico & he needs to be forwarned.

Della: I think he's already been forwarned a plenty.

Chico: I have Della & Ed. I'm on the path of the straight & narrow, thanks to Rev Bemis.

Chico sees the mystery girl from his past & exclaims: Ave Maria Purisma!

Mystery Gal: Chico......... I will marry you.......

Ed: You don't even know how to make a bed!

Mystery Gal: And how would you know?

Ed: Because I just..............

Chico: (Breaks up the chatter) Now, Now Ed........ There will be no wedding bells here.

Mystery Gal: (Runs to Chico's room opens the door and closes it behind her).:crying:

Della: Now look what you did Chico! You made that young lady cry......... You should be ashamed of yourself...

Ed: Yeah Chico.........

Prunilda: Chico who is that girl?

Chico: Amana, Amana, Amana........

Della: Go inside Chico and make up with that gal.... Go ahead.........
