The SNL cast member spoke with fellow cast member Heide Gardner for the Wall Street Journal’s “The Job” series and revealed his answer to the question that Gardner asked about the person who’s been the most important to him.
“I’ve got to say Kel because I don’t have that many professional multi-decade friendships,” explained Thompson. “That guy, we’re attached. He always makes me laugh real hard to this day.”
Gardner went on to explain the story of the day she met Mitchell when Thompson brought him on set. She relayed to Thompson how excited she was that they remained friends because of their story, to which Thompson replied that it’s been a great story to be a part of.
