View Full Version : TV Land is getting a lot better
cubsfan1060 10-13-2002, 12:07 AM I have noticed reading other posts on these boards that Nick at Nite is going downhill even further. What is with Nick? I will only watch Cheers on Nick. TV is adding so many new shows that are better than the ones Nick has. I guess TV Land will be the channel to watch for classic TV until Nick at Nite finally stops their renegade ways. I cannot believe Nick is airing Coach and soon enough Roseanne. Thier final shows were made in 1997 and 1998 or 1999! What is with Nick!? Someday, Nick at Nite will have wished to have stuck to their guns. I do miss the good programs Nick used to air. At least Cheers is awesome. If Nick at Nite were to air Valerie or Perfect Strangers or some very hot 80's show, I would still be in front of the T.V. continuing my obsession with Nick At Nite. All is well that ends well!
Fan of old shows 10-13-2002, 12:24 AM yea i seen the show on at some decent time to see it. the funny thing is every time you see the show, you always stop to see what episode it is, if not watch it... its amazing the power the show had on people..
dawsongirl 10-13-2002, 08:14 PM TV Land would be better if Adam-12 and Emergency were back on the schedule. That ruined TV Land for me when those left.
And it would be nice if The Love Boat was on when I was home!
Barnabas1 10-17-2002, 08:18 AM Truthfully, I wish N@N showed the original shows more than TvLand. It is the original channel that we all grew up watching, the laughs, the enjoyment, now where is it all now? These 'Modern Tv Classics' are ruining the channel. The channel we grew up watching, us as wee children found out of I Love Lucy, now down the drain.

I agree with you. The "change" all started when they added The Facts of Life to the network. The show helped influenced the programmers of Nick at Nite to acquire more 80's shows. When "Cheers", "The Cosby Show", and "Family Ties" were added to the network it caused some of the classic t.v. shows from the 50's, 60's, and 70's to leave the network for good.
Nick at Nite will never be the same ever and I miss the good old days of the years 1997 to 1999. Those were far the best ever.
Barnabas1 11-24-2002, 08:39 PM Sorry if I preached a little too much there!
Czas na Zywiec 11-25-2002, 12:51 AM N@N was great when I was growing up. I don't know when I started watching it, but it was great up until the middle of 2001. As soon as Cheers came in and they started all that double take ********* is when it all went downhill. Facts was not to blame for the downfall of N@N, cause they already had other 80's shows on N@N. Wonder Years, Happy Days, and Laverne and Shirley each had a few of their seasons in the 80's, so the logic of Facts being the show that brought N@N down is just plain *********.
It's interesting how you say Facts was the show that ruined N@N when Three's Company came just one month after FOL was added. If I have my calculations correct, that too is an 80's show.
I'm being as nice as I can dawsongirl. :)

Sean Snow 11-26-2002, 04:49 PM Nick-at-Nite is so terrible now. The only two shows I find watching, All in the Family and Three's Company, are on at terrible times. I miss the schedule from March of 2001. And it's not the fault of The Facts of Life - all the shows usually bump off a show or two to make room for it. And Diff'rent Strokes joined the network after both TC and FOL.
I have no problem with N@N moving on into the 70s and 80s, but I wish they had done it at a slower pace. Now they have shows from the 90s on it. *Sigh*

Yep. I would watch 3's Company, but I go to bed at 3 so I'm usually too sleepy to watch it. I only watch AITF.
The way I see it, the shows they are getting from the 90s were overplayed to start with. You know how TBS and WGN show basically the same shows and it's just stupid to pass them on to N @ N without giving it a little resting time.
