Caroline13 10-22-2024, 02:41 PM I did MOST of my life until online banking but the S hock came when my Long Long Time BanI k branch closed early this year. Talk about a Shock.....

Dude111 10-22-2024, 08:38 PM I dunno if I have ever gone to a bank. Maybe to cash a cheque but not to do anything big like most people do......
I mainly use Cash............
Bonniegirl 10-23-2024, 12:52 AM Yes. I still do! I'm old fashioned and don't like online banking or ATM's . I feel safer and more comfortable going into the bank.
ponytail 10-23-2024, 07:17 AM Yes. And I still insist on getting a paper paycheck. I've never even been to an ATM.
Caroline13 10-23-2024, 02:50 PM I've NEVER used an ATM, nothing like doing business with REAL PEOPLE...I am OK with paying some bills on line and I get a couple checks auto deposited every month, but the New Order we are in and getting deeper is here.
On a sad note, I heard all Denny's are closing....talk about a historic landmark, Dennys. The young people will never know.
Penny Lane 10-24-2024, 02:06 PM I do most of my banking online .I go to the bank to cash or deposit a check.
I go to the bank to cash or deposit a check.
It's a bank. That's all I ever do there. Either deposit or take out money. I can't think of anything else I'd do there.
Are safety deposit boxes still a thing?
Yes. I still do! I'm old fashioned and don't like online banking or ATM's . I feel safer and more comfortable going into the bank.
I use the bank drive thru ATM to deposit or withdraw. I very rarely actually go in the bank.
Dr. Jazz 10-24-2024, 10:55 PM I still go in the bank on occasion. Not like I used to. I notice quite a bit of people still go in the bank. It always seems to be crowded.

That would still go in the category of “taking out money”

I pay most of my bills online. Very convenient. I have direct deposit on my Social Security add pension checks. Any personal checks that
I receive I go to the bank to cash them.
Coffeecup 10-27-2024, 05:22 PM I only go the bank for ATM withdrawals, the drive in window for cashing, what few checks come my way, and making change from the Atm money. I like to get ones, fives and tens for going out to eat and giving a tip.The rest I do online which is nice. 40 years ago I worked in a bank in a tourist town and the 5 tellers would have lines 6 deep with customers in the busy summer months. So much has changed. No longer small town banks, most now are chains.
I pay most of my bills online. Very convenient.
But then you lose the classic time-tested excuse for not paying

TheLittleFaerie 10-29-2024, 06:20 AM I do yes! I just enjoy doing those "older things". I use the ATM after hours but don't do Online banking anymore, too many log in issues... I also write checks, prefer going to a movie theater instead of streaming, I love eating in restaurants instead of DoorDash, etc

Me too, I love old school things ! Same as you with banking ( but I don't use the ATM even) , movies and restaurants! :)
ThisLittlePiggy 10-29-2024, 04:23 PM I do my banking online but if I receive a paper check, I do go into the bank.
stevea 10-29-2024, 04:50 PM Occasionally, I'll need cash for some provider. Even for that, in some branches, they don't want you going to a teller--someone will direct you to the ATM in the lobby. Other than that, I rarely need a bank anymore. True for many, probably--thus, many are closing.
