Like in the sense that it became a part of America's pop culture lexicon and most people know what Degrassi even is? At least when compared to say, Beverly Hills, 90210 or Melrose Place. Regardless, all of its iterations from the 1980s (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125223/http://www.jumptheshark.com/d/degrassijuniorhigh.htm), 1990s, and 2000s (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125223/http://www.jumptheshark.com/d/degrassitng.htm) are believed have been aired in the US (https://www.reddit.com/r/Degrassi/comments/18kydny/american_audiences_how_did_you_watch_degrassi/) somewhere such as PBS (https://degrassi.fandom.com/wiki/Public_Broadcasting_Service) or The N (https://degrassi.fandom.com/wiki/The_N) (later known as TeenNick (https://degrassi.fandom.com/wiki/TeenNick)). It also aired in syndication (https://forums.lostmediawiki.com/thread/10229/degrassi-next-generation-syndication) circa 2007-08 (https://web.archive.org/web/20081109065533/http://degrassitng.tv/watch.shtml).

For America there were a lot of high school based drama shows such as Our Miss Brooks and in the 1980's we had Square Pegs and Head Of The Class and Saved By The Bell but in Canada one long running teen drama stood the test of time and that is Degrassi and when the first entry of the Degrassi line The Kids Of Degrassi Street debuted in 1979 little did we know that this show would begin a successful franchise in Canada and when The Kids Of Degrassi Street ended it's run in 1986 little did we know that the franchise would continue with Degrassi High and Degrassi Junior High and when Degrassi High was launched I think it was Canada's answer to Saved By The Bell and Degrassi Junior High was Canada's answer to Square Pegs and when you get the general picture Degrassi is one of Canada's longest running teen drama franchises because just as America had Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place Degrassi continued to expand the franchise very well. But when the recent additions to the Degrassi franchise were added to The-N they showed a mature teen side of Degrassi than the other three Degrassi shows and those two Degrassi shows were huge hits for The-N and got The-N high ratings in TV. Even today the Degrassi franchise is still popular in Canada but if it was brought to America it would introduce American fans to this show because this show would be very popular with American audiences everywhere
