I never never, in my entire existance, every heard of, met, or came in contact with ANYONE named Lorna. Oh well. Just makes it a cooler name. Visit america sometime. Everyone will comment on ur name. BTW do u have a strong accent? Sorry I always ask people what they sound like when they talk,. and Ive never acutally met someone from scotland so do u guys really talk like people on TV say u do or is that just overdoing it for comedy (whatever u call that.)?

Anyway, Im Dana. How boring is that? In this lovely friggen country, we have 1,9003782938749 danas. But I'm also refered to (on the boards) as Cow, Moosie, and Loafy. In real life Im called Cow, Benji, or just plain ass Dana. Im also a luffly queen of a bunch of *****... So likeeeeeeeeeee... Yeah. anything abnormal is me.

Erm, I guess I do have quite a strong accent but it's not as strong as some people. Go'n talk to someone from Govan in Glasgow - I sound completely posh compared to them!
Trust me - Scottish people don't sound the way the majority of Americans think they do. We do not all sound like Groundskeeper Willie or Scrooge McDuck. Their accents are just exaggerated for TV.

And thankyou to everyone who said they liked my name. :) :D

Well Lorna knows how much I love her name...

And yeah, I was friends with a Scottish exchange student who was over here for the summer, and she had a REALLY heavy accent. But it didn't sound like the people on TV. To me, it sounded like a British accent but the Scottish are really heavy on their 'R's... (Mossopp, correct me if I'm wrong). I don't really know how to explain it.

I like the name Lorna too. In my town, I don't think we have many Lorna's. My town isn't really that creative. The most popular girl's names over here are Heather, Ashley, and Jennifer. As you can see, I am a Jennifer.

We are quite heavy on our R's in the West of Scotland, I must admit. The best way to illustrate it is by useing the word "girl".
Most people would pronounce it the way it is spelt. Whereas myself, and many other Scots, would pronounce it as "gir-il".
Personally, I don't find the West of Scotland accent particularly attractive, but many people have told me that my accent is actually quite sexy so I can live with it now! :D

Sounds like a stuck-up Frenchman.

And yes, Lorna's a mighty fine name. I think UK names are quite exquisite compared to some of the weird crap people over here name their kids.

I think my name is all right but it's so common. I was the only Jessica is my elementary school but when I got to junior high and high school there were so many of them.

Are there any other Jessica's here on these boards?

Well it's just, the name is so common. There are probably over 10 Chris' who come to this board. My mother named me after a song, that air head. I use my middle name most of the time.

Yea, it's weird because in my old neighborhood there were at least 5 Chris's within 2 blocks of my house. But then again it was a very heavy Polish neighborhood and Chris is a very common name in Polish. But I love it cause you spell it like a compltely different way in Polish than English, so it's like I have 2 names at times. ;) Not counting my middle and confirmation names.
