In 1987 General Mills came up with a fun and smart marketing strategy to sell Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The result? Three animated bakers who showed their talents at making Cinnamon Toast Crunch great that I refer to as The Three Bakers. I can't remember if the other two bakers had names but the one baker that was always shown most of the time in Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercials was Wendell. Anyway Cinnamon Toast Crunch's three bakers made their debut in their first commercial first seen in 1987. The commercial was animated and showed two kids wishing for something good for breakfast when suddenly The Three Bakers appear and ask the kids to help create Cinnamon Toast Crunch and so donning chef hats the kids prepare Cinnamon Toast Crunch and then the commercial ends with the kids eating the cereal and The Three Bakers sing the jingle "Cinnamon Toast Crunch". I don't know why General Mills retired these smart mascots for Cinnamon Toast Crunch in the 2000's but General Mills should bring back Wendell The Baker in some of the new Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercials because The Three Bakers were clever and helped sell a lot of Cinnamon Toast Crunch during the 80's and 90's
