View Full Version : NOT coming to Hallmark :(
TVJunkie101 10-11-2002, 03:15 PM I just received an e-mail from the Hallmark Channel. They specifically told me that The Lucy Show will not be included in their lineup. It's such a shame. I wonder why they decided not to add it.
HERE IS THE EXACT E-MAIL I GOT:

SPLAIN 10-11-2002, 04:21 PM Too bad, their loss and ours.
Christopher 10-11-2002, 05:35 PM If it isn't coming then why did they say it was? I hate that channel!!!!!

They never said it was really, just that they're acquiring it. And this doesn't really mean that'll NEVER come to their channel, they might end up making a last minute decision like they did with adding FOL.

Yeah. Exactly. Hallmark wasn't exactly clear by what they meant, but it could show up eventually, just not in the immediate future.
oldshows 10-11-2002, 10:07 PM Well, this is VERY disappointing. I'm glad to know they might show it one day but I was really expecting it to be on Hallmark's schedule in January. I haven't been able to watch the show in years and was really looking forward to watching. Well, I've waited this long so I guess I can wait a little longer. Of course we can all email Hallmark EVERYDAY requesting they show it. Maybe they might budge. It certainly can't hurt.
LucyFan 10-11-2002, 10:49 PM I am just plain out disappointed. :(

I think we all are. I was in disbelief when I got that e-mail. I mean, I had heard rumors around boards that Hallmark changed their minds, but I always ignored it, but now, from Hallmark themselves... ugh. Figures they'd go with Hogan's Heroes and Beverly Hillbillies (both have run their course! sheesh! and both just left TV Land this year! BH leaves after December, HH left in May)
oldshows 10-14-2002, 06:52 PM I really don't know what to believe about Hallmark. On the general discussion board, Pavanbadal last week said that "The Lucy Show" is indeed coming to Hallmark in January, the email department for Hallmark's email department was wrong. Well, Hallmark emailed me today. Here's what they said
"Thank you for your recent contact with Hallmark channel.
Unfortunately, plans to air "The Lucy Show" fell through and as a result we will not be airing the series. We appreciate your interest and we thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts."
Well, I would think Hallmark's email department would be up to date by now. But then again, Pavanbadal is usually right. I don't really know but I sure hope I'm watching "The Lucy Show" come January. I know I'm still going to email Hallmark everyday suggesting it.
TVJunkie101 10-14-2002, 06:54 PM Pav, have you heard anything?
hazelfanatic 10-14-2002, 10:23 PM I just got an e-mail from Hallmark and they said it is not going to air at all. I'm SO disappointed!!!
LucyFan 10-14-2002, 10:34 PM Here is what they sent me:
Thank you for your recent contact with Hallmark channel.
We were looking forward to including "The Lucy Show" in the Hallmark channel lineup. Unfortunately, we ran into difficuties in obtaining the rights to air the series.....The failure to fulfill the expectation, or hope, of airing the series is as much a disappointment to us as it is to our fans.
We appreciate your interest and we thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
I take it we aren't going to see the one and only The Lucy Show. :( :crying:
SPLAIN 10-15-2002, 11:13 AM Do what i did Jen, get copies made by someone who has them, and tell hallmark to take a long walk on a short pier!

It is official, Hallmark does not have a deal with The Lucy Show. Sorry, they should have never even listed in the first place, because they didn't keep their word. Second time this has happened, first with The Color Honeymooners and now The Lucy Show. As of now, the other shows are in tact and have deals.
Sorry Lucy Show fans. Bombard them with emails and tell them why did you list it in the first place?
Viewer Services was 1 out of 2, they were wrong about the Hogan's Heroes date.
oldshows 10-15-2002, 04:52 PM Don't worry, I've been bombarding them everyday and will continue to do so along with TVLand. Someone is going to pick up "The Lucy Show" and "Here's Lucy" or I'm going to continue flood their email. :)
SPLAIN 10-16-2002, 01:28 PM Good for you, and thanks for doing it, now why dun't you pass the info along so we can help you do it all?
Impressions 10-16-2002, 04:53 PM Look, if you put it this way, I think Hallmark caught us in a trap, and played with our minds and teased us that TLS would be coming anytime soon, but we believed it actually would be coming, but Hallmark tricked us into their scheme, and then eventually we're just stuck in a web. Sure we knew it wasn't official but we just sticked to it was going to air. I thought Hallmark had finally had something going for them, they picked a bunch of shows and they were going to air some of them, but this was there way of saying, that they didn't promise you that TLS would be coming to their station. It's hard to believe Hallmark would pick something up, and then put it down like they never touched it.
oldshows 10-16-2002, 05:31 PM The email address for Hallmark is: Viewers@hallmarkchannel.com
For TVLand its: postmaster@tvland.com
I just send the same email everyday. All you have to do is go to your out box, find the one you sent the day before, click on it, push resend and that's it. Only take less than 30 seconds to send both.

I think that isn't doing any good. For all you know, they could be deleting the e-mails figuring that it is just the same old e-mail getting mailed over and over again. I have heard that has happened. I don't know if that is true or not but I wouldn't waste my time mailing them the same old message over and over again.
SPLAIN 10-18-2002, 09:13 AM At least he's getting his point across, i wish he would do the same with the guys at A and E, one documentary only on Lucille Ball, one of the most important women of all time, and it was a rehash wasn't it, like there isn't enough info on her out there, same with their new TVography, they haven't done the most popular show of all time yet, i really think the estates and CBS must be charging too much for the clips, why else would the only TV show inducted into the TV Hall of fame not have it's own TVography?
oldshows 10-18-2002, 03:11 PM It might not be doing any good but it certainly isn't doing any harm. As for as wasting my time, it only takes 15 seconds out of my day to resend the emails. I don't think 15 seconds out of my day, or anybody elses, is going to hurt my schedule any. If The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy is going to be put on Network t.v. again every Lucy fan needs to be persistant and stubborn like me.
SPLAIN 10-18-2002, 03:59 PM well i did it on your advice and i already got a reply from them, it says, thank you for your recent contact with the hallmark channel, it was our intention to air The Lucy show, but due to problems beyond our control, we were unable to obtain the rights to the show. The more these people see how many of us want these shows, the more effort they are going to put in to get them for us, these new channels need subscribers, so we yield the power, keep up the good work oldshows, one day your persistence will be rewarded.
