View Full Version : Hallmark speaks out...
TVJunkie101 10-11-2002, 03:06 PM I just recieved an e-mail from Hallmark (I e-mailed them a day or two ago) and they told me that they DO NOT have any plans on adding "The Lucy Show." Which is definitely upsetting news. The news they gave me on Hogan's Heroes has already been released (November 25th) but they told me the time slot it will be given: 4:00pm.
No word on Mork and Mindy or The Beverly Hillbillies. They will probably start airing in January (my assumption).
It's so nice when networks actually give you information, LOL.
Here is the exact e-mail I got.
Thank you for your recent contact with Hallmark channel.
"Hogan's Heroes" will begin airing on Monday, November 25th at 4:00pm (ET&PT). "The Lucy Show" is not going to be included in our line-up of shows. Regarding the other mentioned shows I haven't any information regarding a start up date.
If you like I can keep your address and contact you when/if I am able to confirm the requested informaton.
Thank you for writing.
Brenton 10-11-2002, 03:35 PM Well, that is disappointing that they are not adding "The Lucy Show". I think it is even more disappointing that they would approve "Hogan's Heroes" which doesn't seem to fit with the Hallmark image.
Sean Snow 10-11-2002, 04:13 PM Yeah it is upsetting about TLS, but that who knows it might be added later on next year or be suddenly added to a schedule like "The Facts of Life".
Impressions 10-11-2002, 04:15 PM *sighs* It is too bad Hallmark would *not* pick up "The Lucy Show" that is very dissapointing and unexpected news, I was expecting "The Lucy Show" to air, but I guess my hopes where to high, maybe some other network will have the nerve to pick the show up.

I thought it was starting the 4th. Oh well.
Christopher 10-11-2002, 05:42 PM Then why did Hallmark say they were going to air TLS if they weren't. I hate Hallmark!!!!!!!!!!

They never said they were; All Hallmark did was acquire Paramount programming, and when the news broke, The Lucy Show was listed AMONG the programs Hallmark would have access to.

It would make sense for it to start the 4th, but who knows, LOL. Hallmark probably changed their minds at the last minute.

Any word if Facts of Life is still staying?
oldshows 10-11-2002, 10:12 PM Well, this is VERY disappointing. I'm glad to know they might show it one day but I was really expecting it to be on Hallmark's schedule in January. I haven't been able to watch the show in years and was really looking forward to watching. Well, I've waited this long so I guess I can wait a little longer. Of course we can all email Hallmark EVERYDAY requesting they show it. Maybe they might budge. It certainly can't hurt.
LucyFan 10-11-2002, 10:23 PM I have no clue how I should feel at this moment. I am both mad and sad. I think it is just awful that The Lucy Show won't be airing soon. I knew it was to good to come true. Most of all, it is a disappointment to the many people who were looking forward to seeing the show. Some were looking forward to it sixth months ago. There's more too: to top it off the 40th anniversary of The Lucy Show just passed and Hallmark (who happens to have the rights to it) didn't even have a marathon of the show nonetheless air one single episode. This is such a shame. :(

I asked them; but no answer. I'm praying it sticks around.

I agree, it IS such a shame. I was very disappointed when I got that e-mail. It figures Hallmark would choose Beverly Hillbillies and Hogan's Heroes (both have been played to death) over The Lucy Show. I am praying Hallmark adds Mork and Mindy, and I think they will. It was awful that Hallmark ignored The Lucy Show's 40th Anniversary. I mean, they're giving Touched By An Angel a marathon soon, "by popular demand." I mean, I'm so sick of Touched By An Angel, it has run it's course.

I too was looking forward to it. Yeah, it couldn't hurt to e-mail Hallmark every day, that way they'd know there is interest in seeing The Lucy Show. I've e-mailed them asking about other Paramount shows possibly coming in the future (such as "Petticoat Junction") but no response yet.
I Dream of Jeannie 10-13-2002, 04:34 PM I hate the Hallmark channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First they cut IDOJ to shreds when they air it.
Then they take away almost all of it's time slots
Now they don't show the Lucy Show, I'm sorry about this happening to yall and me.

I'm checking into this Lucy Show thing now, I doubt it is true, last I heard it is coming in January or so.

Yeah, Pav, you've got that right, they need to get their facts straight. The Viewer Services may have old information they give out because they weren't given the up-to-date stuff? Just an idea, LOL... But yeah, they need to get their facts straight.

Czas na Zywiec 10-13-2002, 10:38 PM Hey pavanbadal, do you have any clue to what other shows are coming to Hallmark? It's the only good network for sitcoms I have (No N@N, TVLand, GoodLife, Oxygen, etc.) and if you had any predictions on what Paramount or other shows are coming, I'd really appreciate it. If not, then oh poo.

Well I know Mork & Mindy, Beverly Hillbillies, Hogan's Heroes (Nov 4), and Lucy Show (I still think it's coming) are coming sitcom wise. That is all that has been announced.

Does this mean "Mork & Mindy", "Beverly Hillbillies", and "Hogan's Heroes" will all come Nov. 4th, or just "Hogan's Heroes"?

Just HH. M&M and BH probably in January, nothing is official, only the Nov 4 HH.

oldshows 10-14-2002, 06:42 PM I just received an email from Hallmark myself today.
"Thank you for your recent contact with Hallmark channel.
Unfortunately, plans to air "The Lucy Show" fell through and as a result we will not be airing the series. We appreciate your interest and we thank you for taking the time to
share your thoughts."
Pav, how sure are you that Hallmark is going to run The Lucy Show in January? I would think Hallmark's email department would be up to date by now. I'm still hoping your right.
Central Perk 10-14-2002, 07:02 PM I wrote to Hallmark asking about Mork and Mindy Here is the email I got back below:
Thank you for your recent contact with Hallmark channel.
I know of no plans...at this time...to air "Mork and Mindy". If you like
I will keep your address and contact you should this information change
in the near future.
Thank you for your interest.

I'm guessing this person that I wrote to didn't know anything, or Hallmark has no plans of airing Mork & Mindy in the near future. I'm glad they wrote at least.
TVJunkie101 10-14-2002, 07:07 PM Well, they said "at this time" which could mean this month, November or December. Who knows what they mean; everyone who works for the networks are so vague, like it's a major secret. I mean, we'll find out sometime anyway. I think the programming peeps at Hallmark only give the viewer feedback people limited information.
See, I got a whole other story regarding Mork and Mindy in my e-mail. They neither said, nor denied, any plans to add M&M. So, they need to get their facts straight, IMO, lol.
Hopefully, Pav can get this all straightened out.
LucyFan 10-14-2002, 09:41 PM This is what they sent me regarding The Lucy Show:
Thank you for your recent contact with Hallmark channel.
We were looking forward to including "The Lucy Show" in the Hallmark channel lineup. Unfortunately, we ran into difficuties in obtaining the rights to air the series.....The failure to fulfill the expectation, or hope, of airing the series is as much a disappointment to us as it is to our fans.
We appreciate your interest and we thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
So I guess we aren't going to see "The Lucy Show" afterall. :( :( :(
hazelfanatic 10-14-2002, 10:19 PM Here' the answer I got. Apparently they are not going to have it at all!!! What a disappointment!!!

oldshows 10-14-2002, 11:04 PM It seems everyone has been told "The Lucy Show" won't be shown. What a disappointment. I was so looking forward to it. I guess I'll just have to keep up the emailing of TVLand and Hallmark as I do everyday requesting they show Lucy(I've also been requesting "Here's Lucy been shown as well). Hopefully one day someone will pick it up. Hopefully sooner than later.
Impressions 10-14-2002, 11:08 PM I guess, from the messages from Hallmark it looks as if "The Lucy Show" won't be airing on Hallmark. Atleast more shows will be airing other than TLS.
Czas na Zywiec 10-15-2002, 12:03 AM Anyone notice today they didn't air Life Moments but America's Funniest Home Videos w/ Bob Saget? I thought ABC Family had the rights to air it, or do they just have the later years? Or maybe this is just a filler until Hogan's Heroes comes?

Yeah I did notice that; during the Bewitched closing credits and FOL closing credits they kept playing the promos for it. I was like, WTH, I thought it was an error, so I kept Hallmark on until 6 and it was on. Was Life Moments cancelled? (Not that I really care, I never watched the show). I believe Hallmark told me Hogan's Heroes was coming at 4:00, but they may air it again at 6:00 (much like they did with Bewitched and IDOJ when they first came out). That's just a guess on my part, but strange how they would bring back AFV.
Oh, and about the rights, Pav can probably answer this better than I can, but I'm guessing Hallmark has the rights to the Bob Saget version while ABC Family has the rights to the John Fugelsang (or however you spell his last name! lol) and Daisy Feuntes version.
Pavan 10-15-2002, 03:34 PM It is official, Hallmark does not have a deal with The Lucy Show. Sorry, they should have never even listed in the first place, because they didn't keep their word. Second time this has happened, first with The Color Honeymooners and now The Lucy Show. As of now, the other shows are in tact and have deals.
Sorry Lucy Show fans. Bombard them with emails and tell them why did you list it in the first place?

Don't worry, I've been bombarding them everyday and will continue to do so along with TVLand. Someone is going to pick up "The Lucy Show" and "Here's Lucy" or I'm going to continue flood their email. :)
Czas na Zywiec 10-15-2002, 06:39 PM I'm going to bombard them with e-mail them about why the hell they took FOL off. I mean on a post on the FOL board, I saw they're airing Perry Mason 4 times! That's 4 hours! They could easily play FOL and get rid of one of those slots. Do you know if Hallmark is totally taking FOL off or if they're keeping it on weekends Pav? God, I'm so mad at them right now. They didn't even play all the episodes. Idiots I tell ya......

LOL! Lemme explain my situation. I started watching FOL in September 2000 when it came to N@N and I moved to CO in about November 2000 where I don't get Nick. I was in the middle of Season 7 so didn't see any of the eps at all from the last 2 1/2 seasons. And I don't have TVLand so I never saw the fandemonium. And I didn't even have a VCR to record with in Chicago so I didn't even have a single ep on tape. I like completely forgot everything about the show until Hallmark picked it up in July. And they still skipped like 30 - 40 eps. I mean I think everyone's had enough Hillbillies to last them a lifetime since I heard it airs a lot on TVLand. Sorry for sounding so mean, but I get mad when a network drops a show of mine that I haven't seen in a while. LOL, How did you feel when TVLand dropped Hogan's Heroes? ;)

Oh, I understand completely! Okay, so I get into HH...well, I don't remember when, but anyway, it was on at 4am. I'M NOT UP AT 4AM! Then they moved it somewhere else and I wasn't home. Finally it gets in some timeslot where I can watch and I don't tape 'em cause I'm thinking it'll run forever or something. :p Then they drop it and I only have like 6 episodes on tape. Then I order them on DVD from Columbia House. GREAT! Except they only have the first 20 episodes.
I pretty much felt the same way when they dumped Adam-12, but fortunately I saw that coming and taped like mad.
And I wonder why I watch 2 hours of TV a day or less instead of like 6.

You can say that again. What makes this show so appealing? Tvland really needs to overhaul it's schedule. Just how many times does Hillbillies, Gilligan, Brady Bunch, Beaver, and Happy Days come on? I'm a big fan of Beaver, and a slight HD fan but I'm seriously starting to get sick of both shows since they are shown so many times a day. Wait, I really don't mind the Beaver episodes if they are young Beaver episodes. The older ones are okay, but just aren't worth mentioning. Of course they are on the older Beaver episodes now.
It seems they pass the first 3 shows on my list around from station to station. Then you have a show like FOL that is barely shown and they stick that in a vault somewhere to rot. I mean no offense to anybody, but they need to stick Hillbillies, Gilligan, and the Bradys in a vault and let the rare shows get airtime.
