My mom loves Tracey Ullman's song They Don't Know and we found out that the song first got popular by Kirsty McColl and it inspired me to learn more about her. She was very popular in the UK and she was the UK version of Cyndi Lauper. Kirsty McColl had some cool songs with sometimes silly lyrics and Kirsty's other songs were 15 Minutes and her final hit In These Shoes which later became a hit for Bette Midler. I did hear that Kirsty McColl died in a boating accident in the 2000's. Was Kirsty McColl trying to be like Madonna in the UK when she debuted in the 80's
